Eddie Murphy's character was "Axel Foley". The song "Axel F" was played at every box social, or whatever you kids call them nowadays. I believe Nokia used to include it as a 'built-in' monophonic ringtone, which for some reason made it even funnier for me.

Why do the both of you feel the need to explain the theme and origin to me? I know what the song is, I know the movie, I know the character, hell I can spout off a million quotes from the movie. I can even remind you that when Axel goes to the upscale restaruant where the bad guy is having lunch, and tussels with the bodyguard (who killed his friend- James Russo, who played the burglar in Fast Times at Ridgemont High) the guy that 'handles' the body guard is an obvious stuntman- looks nothing like Eddie. Don't mean to be a dick, but I know the movie. All I was trying to say was that anyone under 30 probably wouldn't know what the "Axel F" ringtone is.
