It was just something my girlfriend's brother did a couple of years back. Funny stuff. It's 4+ MB, so if you don't have a high speed connection then I won't send it to you.

They did a Sunny D experiment in the UK where they fed this kid a litre of the stuff every day. After a few weeks her skin turned yellow! Never touched the stuff since....

it did happen but it wasn't an experiment-it was just a girl who liked it and drunk loads of it. her parents took her to the doctors wondering why she was a shade of orange.

you would think that, I can't say for sure if it actually is true, but when my brother was like 2, he drank A LOT of apple juice, and he started to turn a little yellow, had to go to the hospital and have tests done, it was something in the juice that reacted with him, made him change color because there was so much of whatever it was in him, normally he would have been fine. Same thing can happen with carrots. Steve Jobs, of Apple Computer fame, went on a massive carrot/carrot juice diet years ago, and began to turn a nice shade of orange. Supposedly there are pills available in Europe that do the same thing--massive loads of beta carotene pumped into the system to make a fake tan.

I've never had anything like that happen to me, but throwing up after eating most of a traditional English spinach pie had some unusual visual effects... ;)

P.S. On a similar note, flamingoes get their pink coloration from the chemical pigments in the shrimp that they eat. It's the same reason why salmon flesh is a pinkish/orange color. Farm raised salmon tends to be whitish/grey, so they have to give them nutritional additives to ge the flesh pink.
