Name reference question...

Hey guys, someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "quagmire" a type of quick-sand like swamp that can pull people right under? Or am I thinking of something else?

If so, maybe there's a significane in that name.... ;)

Yes that's what quagmire means. Don't know how it relates to the character really unless you consider how he pulls women under, or something...
