I was thinking of starting a site to list all of the references to pop-culture and the real world in general. I have put up a small site as a starter and I wanted the loyal Family Guy fans to let me know if I should continue or if it is a big waste of time.

Seeing as the show is, um, CANCELLED, I think it's high time someone harnessed this kind of giddy energy and jump-started an episode capsule project a la alt.tv.simpsons and .futurama. (Frighteningly comprehensive examples are at http://www.snpp.com/episodes.html). The capsules can cover everything: pop culture refs, sight gags, continuity and refs to past episodes, highlights of dialogue, promotions, Neilsen ratings, etc.
But since we'd be putting it together in hindsight, as opposed to in real time as the episodes come out, we might not get as many gems as like in the capsule for the _Simpsons_ "Dead Putting Soceity": "[the leader board] also implies that Dr. Monroe and Chief Wiggum have progeny... I wonder who they are?" Little did they know... :)

To save you some time, I think you'll find some references at http://www.stewiesminions.com/episodes/ (Not a very comprehensive list though)
Also, I've been browsing some past posts and it seems Andy Howard used to post quite a few references here from later episodes (they're nice and very detailed). You could check those through google's advanced search feature (it takes some work]. Finally, I already have a list of the major parodies from most episodes, I'd be glad to e-mail it to you if you want (just so you have a reference when you look through them yourself :-) ). I encourage you to continue working through the episodes. While there are definitely lists of references in the episodes, they all seem terribly scattered around on the internet and nothing as comprehensive as your efforts. Note that SNPP capsules contain no pictures whatsoever, leaving much to the imagination. In fact, snpp.com contains very little copyrighted material at all. And adding images would just add to the clutter of the capsule anyway. Maybe in a designated "screenshot" window instead.
So... any ideas for a domain name? Something obscure, a la "SNPP", or something more obvious (perhaps a domain someone already has)?
