Family Guy joke used in Greg the Bunny!

Last night, I caught a little of Greg the Bunny and noticed the following gag:

Greg tells the blonde chick something to the effect of "nice hooters" at which point she gasps and then some owls walk in. The owls then say something like, "nice melons" when she gasps again as they pan to a view of the melons.

It's enough that the show is crappy as all hell, and the editing looks like it was done by a room full of monkeys ("It was the best of times, it was the BLURST of times!"), but now they have to copy jokes as well?

I loved that ending to the Simpsons! What a great episode!

...so you're basically implying that Greg the Bunny ripped the joke off of Dumb and Dumber, and not Family Guy.

The way I see it, in Dumb and Dumber they never had the "melons" part of the joke. This would indicate that the person responsible for the joke in the Greg the Bunny episode had to have seen it on the Family Guy. Hence, the person was ripping off a joke they saw on the Family Guy - regardless of where it originally came from.

My comment was not meant to imply that Family Guy was the original source of the joke, but more to suggest that the Greg the Bunny episode had indeed ripped off the Family Guy (who might have ripped off someone else). It was meant to discredit the merit of Greg the Bunny as any excuse for a television show and affix more praise to our beloved Family Guy.

I don't know what our pseudo-troll's favorite tv shows are, but he did I believe express a preference for the films of Kevin Smith, which quite literally made me laugh out loud when I read that, since Smith made an entire film about obnoxious trolls on the internet who have nothing better to do with their lives than flame in chatrooms and such. Yeah, he posts in alt.movies.kevin-smith. Kevin doesn't like Seth MacFarlane, though, as evident in the Clerks animated series episode 6 joke in the Writer's Room, and in the DVD commentary (I think it was that same episode's commentary, but I'm not positive about that). This mainly seemed to be because Family Guy was much more successful than Clerks. Personally, I think they're both worthy of a very long run. I think Comedy Central should pick up both of them, or something to that effect.
