hey everyone this is exactly what happened in "Dye! Dye! My Darling" it's rather long, but it includes pretty much what happened in the entire episode, so if you don't have cable or can't wait to see it. you can read it here.

"Dye! Dye! My Darling"
It starts out Jane's at a zoo looking at the tiger. She leaves and Trent gives her a ride from the zoo and he wants to know why she had to look at the tiger and Jane tells him that he'll find out once everyone else does.
Daria walks over to Jane's and Trent answers the door and tells Daria that Jane's upstairs. Daria walks up there and goes in Jane's room only to find Tom and Jane kissing! Jane shows Daria her painting "The Lady or The Tiger" (it was jane's head in the jungle with blonde streaks though her hair) and Jane tells Daria this is going to be her new look.
Daria and Jane go and pick up the hairdye and Daria tries to get out of dying Jane's hair many times. Jane thinks Daria doesn't want to help cause she thinks Daria doesn't want to make her look even cooler than she already does, even though Daria's just afraid of messing up Jane's hair. Once they get back to Jane's house Daria starts to dye Jane's hair. Daria asks Jane what she meant when she was hinting around about the real reasons Daria didn't want to help her and Jane says that she thought maybe Daria was a little jealous of her and Tom. Daria was shocked and Jane said that if she was just a little bit that it was okay, but Daria couldn't believe Jane thought that she liked Tom. Jane then started give Daria reasons, such as how Daria's always barging in on them, being alone with Tom, and then she said that she didn't mean anything by it and not to worry about it. Daria freaks out cause she's being accused of liking Tom by her best friend and being told not to worry about it. Once Jane looks at her hair after it was dyed, it turned out spoted orange instead of blonde streaks and Jane blames Daria on doing it on purpose so she could steal Tom from her and she makes her leave her house.
The next day Jane goes with Trent to get black hair dye and they talk about what happened, so Jane doesn't go to school and Daria's worried cause Jane won't answer the phone or the door. After school Daria calls her mom, but she's too busy and doesn't bother her. Then she calls Tom to see if he knows if Jane's okay and Tom tries to talk to her, but she tells him that she has to go and says bye and hangs up before he even gets the chance to say bye.
Daria then walks to Jane's and apologizes about screwing up her hair, but Jane had already dyed it back to black. Jane and Daria talk for a while and Daria asked why she didn't go to school today and Jane tells her that she was overwhelmed these past few days and Jane asks Daria what's going on between her and Tom. Daria says that she doesn't hate Tom anymore but it's not like she's in love with him. Jane acepts Daria apology and Daria walks home, only to find Tom in his car outside her house. Tom wanted to talk to Daria so he had her get in his car. Daria thought he wanted to talk about Jane but when he said he didn't she wanted to know what and he told her about thier situation. So Daria flips out and goes on this huge speach about how she's not interested in him and how he screwed everything up and then Tom kisses her! she starts saying damn it and Tom said "I liked it too" and Daria yells at him and says "that's not funny!" then they kiss again, and Tom says "that definatly was not funny". They both feel really akward and Daria says she has to leave and gets out of the car really quickly.
The next morning at school Jane's all happy and smiling and starts talking to Daria but she doesn't say anything and then she tells Jane that she kissed Tom. Jane gets mad and runs away while Daria tries to apologize. Jane goes to Tom's house and starts yelling at him and Tom tells Jane that it was all his fault and not Daria's, they talk and end up breaking up.
Daria goes to her moms work and they go out for lunch. Daria tells her mom everything that happened and her mom tells her that everything will work out.
Jane ends up walking around by herself and Trent happens to be driving past and gives Jane a ride to Daria's. Daria and Jane talk and then they both decide wether they're still friends and Jane said they're just can't stand the site of each other.
Then at the end Daria's laying on her bed and the phone's ringing and no one's answering it so she does and it ends up being Tom!
