I would like commentary on the following:
IF you like DARIA then you will also like ...
(Don't just assume that since YOU like Daria and AAA that they others who like Daria will like AAA.)
I'll start off:
If you like DARIA then you will also like THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW. Both are deeply cynical and have a `real' feel to them. (THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW is about a late night talk show called THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW. It shows what goes on behind the scenes.)

Not really. I hadn't heard of Janeane Garofolo before that, possibly because she hasn't really made much impression outside the US. It's a bit like asking a US person who Steve Coogan is (well, maybe not now, but before his recent movie appearance...)

Given her exposure as an anti-war activist, you'd think you'd have heard more of Janeane Garofalo. Of course maybe she got less play because she was thoughtful and at least attempted to be logical and consistent. And I say this as someone who supported and continues to support the war. She's the only Hollywood opponent I can name who isn't dishonest, full of irrational malice, or both.

Don't think so. His recent exposure was in that new remake of Around the World in 80 Days. Prior to that, he was mostly known in the UK for his character "Alan Partridge".
Well, she wasn't heard at all over here, though we had enough anti-war activists of our own not to need her.

That would be JACKIE Coogan who played Uncle Fester. He starred in silent movies with Charlie Chaplin (as The Kid) and was considered Hollywood's wealthiest child star -- until his parents squandered his millions & left him piss poor by the time he was 13. As a result, California law requires that at least 1/3 of a child performer's earnings be placed in trust until the kid reaches 18. (It's known as the Coogan Law).
As for Janeane Garafalo, she's appeared in movies such as Reality Bites and The Truth About Cats and Dogs. She's written for , and appeared on, Saturday Night Live and the Ben Stiller Show in the early '90s. She looks & sounds like a dead ringer for Daria, and had been frequently mistaken for Daria's inspiration and for her voice actress. (Of course we know Daria's voice has been provided by Tracy Grandstaff since her days on B&B). Nevertheless, Janeane hosted the first Daria Day marathon and an MTV Behind the Scenes special on the Making of Daria. (Which will hopefully be included on the DVD collection if -- I mean WHEN -- it ever comes out!)
