Daria Web

Has anyone been able to get into the Daria Web(www.dariaweb.com) website at all? I've kept trying for a month and nothing.

Daniel here, been awhile since i've posted, eh?

For the record, I did not say we were closing down on LC. To my recollection, I merely said we were having troubles with the server and it was temporarily down.

As for the DW content going OD, a lot of what DW had already was on Outpost Daria (since a lot of our content came from other defunct sites). we had a lot of our own stuff, as did Martin, so it really depended on which one you prefered.

And Bryan's post pretty much sums the server stuff up.

Huh? That's a new one on me. :-) Who said that DW's content was going to migrate to OD, I wonder?

For the record -- and I'm not implying anything here -- this was never any sort of a contest for me. All I wanted, and still want, was to put up a decent web site devoted to Daria. If people want to grant OD "supersite" status, that's okay by me, but it was never my goal. I'm just glad that people enjoy my site... and that's all I was, and am, interested in. (Otherwise, I wouldn't bother, as it would turn into work, and I have more than my fill of that 40 hours/week. <grin>)

Who said anything about this being a contest? That was our goal as well, but because of our hosting service, we're currently unable to have a decent site, or a site at all for that matter.

You deserve definate props for what you do. It is hard work, whether or not you want to call it that, but it does get tedious at times, n'est-ce pas? I've run several sites in the past, and I understand what kind of "work" goes into keeping up an informative site. You gotta love it to do it.

Let me shed some light on the issue.

Even though Daria Web was a tremendous amount of work, that is not the reason you cannot get to Daria Web.

Cybercities (www.cybercities.com), the company that I employed to server Daria Web, took the site down without any explaination. They claim that there are server problems, yet all of the other webpages that are served by them are up. I have asked them many questions without any answers. I am upset about the whole incident and am sorry about any problems with it, but it's beyond Dan's and my control.

Daria Web should be back eventually, and it's not gone for good by any means.
