Loved the lil scene stuff with the Barch and O'Neil clips. that was good. The animatoin seemed better than before. Loved the different outfits on the characters (esp Jane's pants. Was it me or was there paint on them?). So, okay, im not really good at this stuff, so i'll go now and wait for everyone elses comments.
Yeah, I've noticed that. Of course, this is partially an artifact of the limitations of animation; it's cheap to re-use the same characters. Still, they could have had some "spear-carriers" in the background ... they obviously did this episode on the cheap. Maybe `cause it wasn't a very important one, and they knew it.
I actually hoped that Quinn was going to be out for good. She needs to develop a bit on her own.
I did like seeing how they faced danger together. I was glad to see that they're both brave, in their quiet manner. And I was liked the mutual apology scene.
Oh, and of course.

Yeah. O'Neill as Heather Donohue. That and the boxer shorts-as-flag bit ...
It was sad to see Ms. Barch betrayed again, this time by weakness rather than malice. O'Neill's failure was a shame, albiet predictable. I get the impression they won't be quite so close anymore.
So did I, actually out of these ensemble type eps, the only one I didn't like was "Just Add Water" only because it was as Mike Quinn said "Fair Enough on a boat", basically an exact copy, but TDH, FE, DDP, I liked all of those.... hey, why are you all staring at me like that? What?
Except for "The Invitation" Most of the eps with production #02, TDH, TOATB, and this one all seem like that it wasn't too important of an episode.
Anyone see this as hypocritical of Sandi, or was it just me. She doesn't like Quinn, and found an excuse(albeit a flimsy one) to get Quinn kicked out, and she lets her back in just like that, I figured it would've taken a hell of alot more than a bag and ostrich feather earmuffs, something that would humiliate Quinn, I'm not a Sandi fan, but she really missed an opprotunity to get one up on Quinn.
Me too. But what's wrong with blue M&M's? I like 'em :-) Life threateing situation bring out the truth in people, what they expressed I believe was honest. Nothing should break them up. Tom, Trent, nor anyone else.

I don't see that much into that, O'Neill is not one to knowingly betray anyone, and eventually she will realize this, I don't see much happening there.
One other thing about this episode: The Helen/Jake relationship. Beyond the occasional roll in the hay, they really have less in common than I previuosly thought. Notice their attempts at conversation, they looked for anything at all to distract them. They seemed relieved when DeMartino stumbled in. It was nice to see them try, but it fell short, again, and Helen attending a marriage workshop on the side, alone, and having to fill in Jake later, The evidence is pointing more and more to some kind of split, probably a trial seperation, but possibly more serious, it may and probably will happen by the end of this season or possibly in the movie, but it will happen, soon. They're definitely building up to something there.
Lastly, are Daria's negotiating skills declining? She got $50 to go on the trip but spent that and more on getting Jane to go among other things, she ended up losing money throughout the show.
Not as good as last week but still a good ep. Alot of great one-liners and different situations, I like eps that throw everyone into different situations and to see how they react, these ensemble style eps do that for me. Fell a bit flat at the end, some problems resolved too quickly, but that's to be expected in these types of shows, plus with only 22 minutes, they set up too much to be solved practically, but still was good. I'd give it a B.
It was a light funny ep IMO. Remember, it isn't just cartoon drama :)

Nope, they just ended up trading that 50 back and forth. She handed it to Jane for coming along, Jane handed it back for losing the bet re Quinn's status in the Fashion Club, Daria handed it back again to Jane as "Hush money".

What was *with* the animation in that one? The walking scenes, in particular, gave me vertigo...it's as though they filmed Daria and Jane's animation against a bluescreen, then matted in a cheesy scrolling background. Ouch!

Actually, I thought the whole episode was too well-telegraphed. Sad to say I didin't laugh once during it, even at Daria's one-liners. It was the least funny episode of the series I have ever seen. I also missed the pilot for this season, and if the animation in it was worse than *this* was, I'm truly worried.
In #401, the animation looked like it was straight off of Pokemon...very jerky, very uncharacteristic of "Daria". In #402 the animation was much better...it flowed better.
Were these both Plus One shows? Or was #402 done by someone else other than Plus One?
Didn't we have a token Daria Hunter defender somewhere? If not, I will. I hate it when people come to a concensus. Anyhow, I kind of liked this one (even though it follows an overdone Daria formula), although of course the real problems the shallow idiots get us into are too neatly tied up in a half-hour... but that's inevitable.
I thought it tied together weirdly with having just finished Heart of Darkness, but I couldn't think of anything real profound to say there... Ms. Li seemed like she'd fit though, the sort of evil within, even if she sought sponsorship, not ivory.
