The squeaky wheel gets the grease

This morning I watched the MTV Daria block. Two episodes, "Write Where it Hurts" and "Arts 'n Crass." I didn't notice a single technical error. Not only that, they included the header and credits between the two episodes. This has been a complaint voiced by many so this is the first time I'd seen Daria episodes run back-to-back without clipping the episodes. Could it be that recent complaints have not fallen upon deaf ears? Could it be that MTV has finally gotten their act together?

If so, good work! Kudos to those involved in getting MTV straightened out. Of course we can't drop our guard. Eternal vigilance is the price of error-free Daria episodes. Stay on 'em.

Maybe we'll know for sure if things have changed when the daily 3 p.m. airings begin again.

Of course, what confused me during season two was that MTV would only run the promos right before the new episodes premiered. They never ran the promos during their regular programming-- at least I never caught any (except for "The New Kid). Frankly, if I had been one of the people who had spent time putting those promos together only to not have them aired but once, I'd be pissed. I think the larger problem, though, was that MTV didn't (and still does't? That remains to be seen.) understand that it's probably one of the best shows on these days. (At least it falls into the 0.01%, that isn't either dreck or a Flowbee infomercial.)

They begin again on Monday. Fire up those VCRs, and see if you can hear Jesse over act III again. <g>
