How could The Fashion Club all talk to each other at the same time? To my knowledge, there is no such thing as four way calling.

There is conference calling, though, and you can get lots of people on one line that way...

It's called teleconferenceing, you can set it up with your phone company, to call as many people as you want at once, it's expensive though. =)

OK,
I want to make it clear right now that I actually *LIKE* Rugrats! Although I make a distinction between the first 65 episodes and the new ones coming out now. I like the original 65, not the new ones.
The first 65 had several very good writers, including the *real* creator of the show, Paul Germain. Neither Paul Germain nor his writing staff are involved with the new batch, nor were they involved with "The Rugrats Movie" which seriously sucked ass.
The current batch is dumbed down and has none of the subversive humor of the original 65. It is as if someone from Nickelodeon decided to get a Child Psychologist aboard to make sure the show was "age appropriate" or some crap like that.
And I tell you one thing, QO or whoever you are...you are acting like a Fashion Club member dictating what is cool for Daria fans to like or dislike. So cool it, OK?

Look, this is ridiculous. This shouldn't be the Culf Of Daria ... liking a character doesn't mean blindly agreeing with everything that character thinks, says, and does. Especially not when that character's whole motif is principaled individualism.
Sincerely Yours, Jordan
principaled
Culf of Daria. Isn't that somewhere along the coast of Norway? ;)

I wanna be a principled individualist, just like Daria.
I also think if you apply WWDD? you could also determine the answer: not base her actions on the perceived priorities of a cartoon character.

Hehe sounds like a comment Oscar Wilde made when a silver mine was named after him: "I look forward to collecting the royalties".
One thing I was thinking about Daria last night while I was actually listening to tapes of lectures on James Joyce and Friedrich Nietzsche. Like Nietzsche I could see her saying something to the effect of "Don't follow me, be a man, follow your own road!" (that and things to the effect of "don't believe me!) Also the lecture on Joyce discussed Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, it discussed Stephen Dedalus as a young man struggling to create his own persona by seperating himself from all organizations, groups, everything. Also like Daria, he set unrealistically high standards for himself, but for a young artist like Stephen or Daria this is still an important part of maturing (as is realizing their flaws)

I think Daria's always going to be something of a perfectionist, though I think as she matures she'll learn to relax her standards in situations where it isn't so important. If she doesn't, she'll have a very lonely and bitter life. Because I like Our Heroine, I like to think that she will become a bit more tolerant in time.
