Talk about irony. About 1-2 weeks after finally plonking down some cash for the full-fledged version of Agent, I've recently started to stop reading NGs altogether. Reason? Way too much traffic. What with 1000-2000 posts EACH in two of the newsgroups I subscribe to, I've decided to mark EVERYTHING read, and start a new.
Not to mention that I've also been trying to catch up on the PPMB (Paperpusher's Message Board), and I've even given up reading everything on that as well -- and the posts are more or less 40-50 daily, far less than the NGs.
Anyway, it appears that there haven't been any posts that I feel like contributing to anyway (As most of the opinions have already been said, and I don't think I could do any better). So.... emn... I'm back. Even if I wasn't really gone. I think.
On another note....
I'll be in the New York area from Aug 17-21, and if anyone wants to meet up or anything, you're free to e-mail me at [email] to make arrangements. On the flipside, if any one from NYC wants anything from SF, I'd be glad to deliver it.
Yet another note....
I am kinda torn in my outlook for next semester. On one hand, it'll be really cool, since I'm going to be on the student publication, and I'll finally have the chance to get my chops in for some real writing. On the other hand, it'll be one heckuva schedule. As it stands now, I'm enrolled in Contemporary Magazines, Shakespeare: Representative Plays, Junior Seminar (It's for English majors), California Culture (It's required, k?), and the Publication Lab. Something tells me I'm going to have to brush up on those time management skills. :P
