Further to my previous message that I've put a pair of Alli / Daria comparison pics up on my website, I have now added a pair of email links that enable you to register a vote, either "agree strongly" or "disagree strongly". (If you don't know what the question was, don't worry, just pick whichever one appeals to you.)
The easiest way to find the page is to load the Stop Press newspaper off the cafe noticeboard and select the "Daria TV testcard" link. Then click on the picture of Daria in the middle of the testcard to load the main Daria page.
(The scenic route is to click on the TV testcard in the cafe, then cycle through the testcard gallery until you reach the above Daria card.)
OK I give in, for the benefit of the dejanewsally challenged, the question previously posed on atd (by Martin I think?) was, "Is Alli ugly?"
However if anyone poses a new Alli question all subsequent votes received will of course be counted as answers to that instead, thus preserving a feeling of uncertainty and anxiety amonsgt poll participants (within legally prescribed limits).
So far voting is 100% "disagree strongly". Incidentally the Alli picture was updated at 16:30 GMT today as her glasses were too big, but you may need to do a CTRL-REFRESH to flush the webcache and force the new version to be fetched. The difference is slight but she is now more clearly distinguished from Daria. Note also each pic has a pop-up quote of the person in question. In fact like most of my site, this page continues to evolve hourly...
Nah, just turn your brightness control up a bit! Or dab a bit of tippex onto the picture on your screen... I've just added a Private Eye style letter to the page, similar to the Clarissa lookalike page. Hair highlights will have to wait until the next update now, when I replace the Daria interview with a news one which reveals the real truth behind the character - Daria is actually a cross- dressing boy! Didn't you always suspect it? Who else would wear a skirt like that?
Jeez, do you know there's not a single good thing on TV on Fridays now? I really must start going to the pub more often.
The characters have never appealed to me. I preferred Beavis & Butthead. Or the Simpsons, though I think that show's over-rated too. It would help if the BBC didn't keep showing the same episodes over and over but moved on to some new ones, it's not like there's a shortage of Simpsons episodes out there.
Maybe you need to press "reload" or CTRL-reload, you may be looking at the original page which had the pics but no blurb about Alli or voting. On the correct version of the page, the text is immediately under the pic of Daria reading a newspaper, and says
"... Alt.tv.daria exists to discuss (a) Daria (left) and (b) Alli (right). Alli is atd's most prolific and misanthropic poster, and as such is regularly the centre of heated debates. To register your opinion on the latest Alli debate*, click on one of these links: Agree strongly �/� Disagree strongly ..."
BTW, do people like the Daria testcard? That's actually my favourite bit of the Daria pages, she's ideally suited to being on a testcard picture. I suppose I should also do one of the real BBC testcard girl, with the blackboard etc. You need at least an 800x600 screen to appreciate these pages really though (I do my best not to cater for the WebTV crowd).
It got to the part about Alli being our most prolific poster, but that's it. Can you give me the addresses? (Just voting here would make it harder to vote multiple times on different e-mail's)

That means you have the old version of the page in your cache and need to reload it. The version I had up yesterday stopped at that point. The pic of Alli has been improved since then too, although I haven't added her hair highlights yet.

If you mean BBC onscreen logos, then yes but after viewer pressure they discontinued the ones they had introduced on their main digital TV services, though they still use them to brand magazine programmes, and the other channels, ITV & Channel 4, are even worse, and Channel 5 has a permanent logo on absolutely everything (except during ad breaks). The defacing of TV output by sticking graffiti over the top of TV pictures to "brand" them is an insidious and growing problem, not least because it's impossible to argue with the imbeciles who advocate it. How can you argue with dogs determined to piss on their own food? If they're convinced such behaviour is a good idea there's really nothing you can say to get through to them apart from turn your TV off until their sponsors pull the plug on them for lack of viewers. (It's notable that none of the channels have dared stick their branding graffiti on during ad breaks! The advertisers would scream blue murder at having their ads defaced, yet it's seemingly ok to do it to decent TV programmes.)
