Oo! Ooo! Her's father's a RIOT. He was at his peak of form during the "Road Worrier" episode when Quinn and Daria went to Alternapalooza and again during the camping episode. As for the writers....I dunno. :)

I don't know...I think that the ignorance of Daria's dad is why his character is so great. He's living in a household with a somewhat dominating wife, a cynical daughter, and another daughter whose goals are strictly fashion oriented. Yes, he's stupid, but he has this blissful ignorance that makes his character engaging. For example in the episode where the parents were trying to introduce rules into the household and he gets very excited because he gets to be the judge...I thought that was great. His simplisity is what differentiates him from his female dominated house.
