UK - D's Inferno & Sick Sad Life Planner

I spotted them in a local computer shop. They've been released by a Dutch outfit called Xplorys, which AFIK is one of those distributers that re-releases old games at a discount. Ten quid each.

What *is* a problem with that is its poor coding and slow performance on anything slower than a 400MHz Pentium II.

Never got Daria's Inferno when it was originally out, but the King Of The Hill computer game was at Fry's Electronics for $8 so maybe Inferno will show up next.

I suppose at that relatively cheap price getting both just to be a completist isn't too bad.

Well a 400MHz chip anyways, seemed to run ok on my 400MHz K6-3 (which I had at the time), must re-load it on my 1GHz Athlon :)

BTW MsGeek, was it you that used to have a K5-166, and I didn't believe you had one :) hehehe I do now, as I have one myself also :)

There's a KOTH game never knew that, if only I could get someone to release the first PC Beavis and Butthead game "Virtual Stupidity", I played the demo, but have never seen the full game.

So is DSSLP wirth bothering with? I suppose the meason for getting it would be for the artwork & sound files enclosed rather then planner software of dubious usefullness.

Anyway I suppose I'll get Inferno, though that's blatantly just being a completist as my machine is below the specs listed on the box _and_ I run Linux and have yet to install WINE.

Funky, funky chip. My K5-166 based, Baby AT Windozer is now in mothballs, replaced by a Pentium 200MMX-based mobo in an ATX case. Yeah, I know that's not a big jump but my UMAX scanner chokes when attached to a 300MHz or better CPU. The machine runs so much faster than the K5-166...more and better RAM, better PCI bridge, the ability to use a 100 Base TX net card...it's not just a faster CPU that makes a faster machine.

Virtual Stupidity is GREAT. Great gameplay, runs almost entirely off the CD-ROM, only installs a little "cookie" on the HD to store settings...a beautiful piece of work. I think they should have resurrected the VS gaming engine for "Daria's Inferno." It would mean that both Daria and Jane could be controllable in the game, rather than having to choose a character.
