Daria driving?

OK, time for a post with too much analysis...

Daria's 16, but we've never seen her -near- driving a car. She's caught rides with Trent or taken a cab, but never driven on the show. Could she have failed her driver's exam? Notice:

In "Esteemsters", she is talking to Helen and Jake about trust, and she asks to borrow either car. They immediately say "No."

In "Quinn The Brain," when Helen tapes Quinn's paper to the fridge, there's also a DMV violation there. But Quinn's only 14 1/2, she doesn't even have her learner's permit (College Bored). So it's not Quinn's, and Helen and Jake wouldn't put their own ticket on the fridge. Maybe that's why Daria doesn't have her own car yet: She got a ticket, and her parents don't "trust" her enough to give her the keys.

Of course, anything I've just said is subject to being horribly wrong... What do you guys think?

Actually, it could very well be Jake or Helen's ticket. They might have it up there just so they don't flake and forget about it.

Daria probably has a license, but just doesn't use it. Heh. I'll be 17 in two weeks, and I haven't even started taking classes to get my permit yet....

Well, those are good assumptions, but maybe it's just to make Daria more of her own character. Once we see her driving she'll just be another teenager out in a car... she won't be the "brain" that walks everywhere... a car, in a way, could damage her charcter.

Destroyed? Isn't that a tad bit too harsh? At every other ng I've ever hung around, they just send them to alt.teen to listen to the shallowness....

Sorry, waaay too much Daria lately. Hmm teen newsgroups.. there's something I wouldn't want to explore if they paid me....

I only *wish* I could get to much Daria.... I tend to be either asleep or in school when it's on.....

LOL whoever made you post to one of them definately has the fever.... As for not getting too much Daria.. I rely soley on my VCR.. MTV is totally undependible.

I had to post a survey of my choice, (I got a Shakespeare one, (Most of the answers I got contained something along the lines of "Who's Shakespeare?......)) As to why.... I'm still not quite sure.....

Try alt.fashion if you want to get into shallowness. This newsgroup (a.f) would be the perfect place for Quinn.

I could concievably say that "Quinn the Brain" took place at least a year after "College Bored," and that Quinn is now 15 1/2. In some states(depending on which one they live in) it is, or used to be, possible for someone to get a learner's permit six months before their 16th birthday. So it is possible for that ticket to be Quinn's if you thought about it that way.
