Tuesday's Buffalo News had a review of the new Daria movie in thier "NEXT" kids section. The teen reviewer gave it 3 out of 4 stars, with the added comment "I'd recommend this movie to all those who have stuck with Daria since the beginning, otherwise chances are you're going to be a bit baffled." As if we'd miss it :) At least the movie is getting advance PR.

Anyway, there's a review of Daria: Is It College Yet? in that section, and the review's great! She said, "The only torment now is that Daria won't be entertaining us anymore" and gave it a score of 8 (out of 10). Any Daria fan should rejoice at such news!

Seriously, though:
Does anyone besides me think IICY is going to be a bit anticlimactic? "Boxing Daria" seemed like such a perfect wrap-up to the series, especially with the allusions back to "Esteemsters". I got the feeling that "Boxing Daria" was sketched out along with "Esteemsters" and planned from the beginning as the final episode.
IICY, I think, will have almost the feel of a "reunion episode" to me, not a true series finale.

Well, there are different ways to end a series. A "reunion episode" might actualy fit, story structure wise. In much of my favorit fiction the last page isn't some dramatic conclusion. That happened 30 pages earlier, with the actual ending being the characters recovering from/reacting to the dramatiic events that have changed them and starting to get on with the rest of thier lives. Nothing wrong with ending a tv show with a big group hug ^_^
