Actually, this is from "The Big House." I am wondering about a phrase Quinn used, "Yes. I will do this thing you ask. But someday, I may ask a favor of you..."
Has anybody here ever actually read "The Illiad?" (I really should do that some day...). Is that a quote from "The Iliad?"

I've tended to attribute the quote to the movie (and possibly book, which I haven't read) "The Godfather." In that movie there is a quote about "someday I may ask a favor of you."
Go ahead and read "The Iliad" though. Sans teachers and slow-reading classmates it's a pretty good story. I liked the sequel, "The Odyssey", better though. I used to really enjoy Greek mythology of all kinds.

Nope. It's from "The Godfather". You really should read that someday, too. :) It's strange though, as I wouldn't think "The Godfather" to be Quinn's type of book, or movie.

It's from The Godfather isn't it? Annie uses the same line on Richard in Caroline in the City, only she does it with a Mafia accent (Marlon Brando or whoever).

I have. The Odyssey was much better, IMO. But if you're going to read that sort of thing I'd recommend the Latin writers personally (now that I'm back from being brainwashed by my Latin professor! <g>).
As far as I remember, it's not a quote from the Iliad. It's too coherent to be from that.
