Since the casting for a live-action Daria movie threads have been done to death in the past few years, I'd thought I'd put a bit of a twist on it by making a list of the worst possible cast. I'm talking about a cast of the most annoying and talentless people that the entertainment industry has had the nerve to inflict on the viewing public, a cast that would make the most die-hard Daria fan drop dead instantly of shame. So to get the ball rolling here is my list....
Daria and Jane: the Olsen twins. I personally think the whole cast of Full House should never be allowed to work in the entertainment industry ever again but we should really think about dusting these two trolls off for these roles.
Jake: Tom Arnold. He's hyper enough, he's annoying enough and dog-gone-it people don't like him.
Helen: Rosie O'Donnell
Quinn: Carrot Top. He's got the red hair, he's feminine enough, and is his prop comedy that much different than Quinn's accessorizing?
Trent: Pauly Shore.
Kevin: any member of any boy-band
Andrea: Nell Carter. pleasedontsing pleasedontsing pleasedontsing....ARRRGH she's singing
Jodie: Downtown Julie Brown
Mack: Jaleel White(?) (TV's Urkel)
Brittany: The other Julie Brown
Mr. DeMartino: Joe Piscipo. I'm tired of people defending him by saying "His Sinatra impersonation was pretty good." It wasn't, Phil Hartman's Sinatra blew Piscipo away thus rendering Joe obsolete.
O'Neil: I'm sticking with CO's suggestion of Robin Williams. He'll insist on ruining the role by imporovising his lines.
Tom: Steve Gutenberg. very annoying plus the creepiness factor of dating the Olsen twin Jane.
Writing Staff: any of the writers for "Suddenly Susan", "Veronica's Closet", "Dharma and Greg" or any TGIF sitcom.
Dishonerable mention: Bob Sagat, Sinbad, the Boogie Bass, the Pets.com sock puppet (AKA Crappy) Gallagher, and Gallagher's brother (who keeps the family tradition of mediocrity alive)
OK, i'm out of ideas here. Maybe our British friends (who've read this far) can fill in some of the rest. I'm sure they have their own group of real-life Troy McClures they can add.
