Hello!

Well, the primetime Emmy nominations were announced this morning, and once again, and what may be for the last time, Daria isn't up for an award. Here are who's up for animation awards:

OUTSTANDING ANIMATED PROGRAM (FOR PROGRAMMING LESS THAN ONE HOUR)
-----------------------------------------------------------------

As Told By Ginger - Hello Stranger - NIC Klasky Csupo

Futurama - Amazon Women In The Mood - FOX The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox TV

King Of The Hill - Chasing Bobby - FOX 20th Century Fox Television in association with 3Arts Entertainment, Deedle-Dee Productions & Judgemental Films

The Powerpuff Girls - Moral Decay & Meet The Beat Alls - Toon A Cartoon Network Production in association with Cartoon Network Studios

The Simpsons - Homr - FOX Gracie Films in association with 20th Century Fox Television

OUTSTANDING ANIMATED PROGRAM (FOR PROGRAMMING MORE THAN ONE HOUR) (Area Award: Possibility of one, more than one or, if none has a majority approval, no award) -----------------------------------------------------------------

Allosaurus: A Walking With Dinosaurs Special • DISC A BBC Discovery Channel Productions

What? Only one nominee? MTV should've fought like hell to get IIFY on that list. Granted, there wasn't much competition last year, "Walking With Dinosaurs" versus "Olive The Other Reindeer."

If there's only one nominee it seems all MTV would've had to do is nominate the show!

Joe Mr. O'Neill: "Daria! You'll never guess who's waiting by the phone to hear from you!" Daria: "That's why they took away my psychic hotline."

nominate

It's obvious, MTV cares little about the show, and that's disturbing (Considering it's one of THEIR shows). Granted the girl got five seasons, two movies, and some merchendise here and there. But they did little to promote the show (An ad or two per day, but not often enough as TRL or the "Real" World). ----------------------------------------------- Through an executive's POV (IMO)......:

President: "Okay, 'any ideas on the nominating front?"

Exec #1: "How about putting Daria up for the Animation award?"

(Everyone looks ar Exec #1 funny)

President: "You're fired."

(Exec #1 leaves with his head hanging low)

Exec #2: "The nerve of that guy, (Sarcasm) nominating Daria."

Exec #3: "She's not sexy enough, she's not mainstream enough, and she's not even controversial enough."

Exec #4: "Couldn't we make her come out of the closet in the finale?"

President: "Can't. Glenn pulled his creative control card."

Exec #2/#3/#4: "DAMN!!"

Exec #5: "I thought Glenn was let go."

Exec #2: Oh no, that was Glen Harvey, the temp that was banging my secretary."

Exec #4: Why don't we just pre-empt it with a Road Rules marathon like we did with Downtown? I mean, it's not like anyone's going to miss it......

Exec #3: Or remember it.

(#3 and #4 laugh)

President: Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Because Glenn helped write the hit show Beavis & Butt-Head, I kinda promised him his own show with an ironclad contract. But hey, it's not like we have to promote the damn thing (Laughs insanely).

Exec #1: (laughing along) Okay, okay, so we know Daria doesn't deserve a nomination, what's next on the agenda?

Exec #2: We could make our own version of "Survivor".

Exec #3: Ooooh! I've got goosebumps!

Exec #2: The idea is to toss ten rednecks from Oklahoma into Harlem, New York, and whoever can last for two weeks without uttering any racial slurs will win a thousand bucks. That'll be like a million dollars to the guy.

Exec #4: But what about the losers?

Exec #2: Leave 'em to the angry mob. Kids love violence.

(Ominous music fills the room as the executives laugh) Sick, ain't it?

Wow. . . some competition. . .

:

Who ever said they cared about Daria in the first place? Chances are if someone was to mention the word "Daria" to an MTV executive, the first response would be "Who?"
