Well, to borrow a word from Fr. Martin, here's the post-mortem on the Daria/PATB showdown, for those of you who couldn't get your browsers working...
Daria won with 62% of 50,606 votes.
Reminder, the showdown with "Underdog" will be on the week of Mar. 5-11th, IIRC. And,hey, those "Underdog" fans are not to be trifled with-- they not only left a yard cigar on the Simpsons' front yard, they whizzed all over their couch, and took Homer's last Duff Beer, too. <g> But I think we have not only have the most committed fans in cartoondom, but also the most diabolically intelligent fans as well. <g> (Yes, double meaning intended.) <g>
It's now "the Flintstones" vs. "Bobby's World." Eesh, what a choice. So far, the modern stone-age family is clubbing poor Bobby into a bloody pulp, but there's still plenty of time for the BW fans to pull a few surgical gloves over their heads and inflate them with their noses, or perhaps drive the "Flintstones" fans insane with high-pitched sqeualing more annoying than the kind one would hear at a "Duran Duran," (if you're a child of the 80s) or "Backstreet Boys" (if you're a child of the 90s) concert. But never count out the people diabolical enough to turn "the Honeymooners" into not only a cartoon, but a franchise.
Here's another hypothetical ethics question: if you had MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder), would it be unethical if each one of your various personalities all voted for the same cartoon as their favorite? Or, if you say you should only cast one vote for, say, all 10 personalities, what if there was a 5-5 tie between the personalities?
Oh, and BTW, they call autopsies post-mortems here as well, but only when the user of the word is trying to impress the listener with his/her expertise and firm grasp of the English language. <g>
