Third Season of Daria

This is one thing I hate: People who get obnoxious about something they obviously know nothing about. The break between episodes of Daria was not the waiting time for a new season. Daria just finished it's SECOND(not third) season, and now we have a much longer period to wait for the third.

MTV is crazy making us wait six months! What is it with cable stations and irregular seasons? AMC does the same thing with Remember WENN, pretty much the only other show I watch, and everyone hates that too.

Why do cable stations screw with such great shows?

They can only afford a dozen episodes, but they have to last 52 weeks. You do the math. Be glad you're not in the UK, where many shows such as Red Dwarf have 6 episode seasons.

I actually don't mind waiting so much for the new season--it's the break the have during the season that drives me crazy.

I'd rather have one new episode every month, rather than three months of weekly episodes and nine months of waiting.

Exactly. 13 episodes gives us a new ep every four weeks. I can live with that a lot easier than July-February breaks.

Yes, but that's probably unrealistic. I'd guess that they submit a "batch" of 6 or 7 episodes to the animation house at a time, it'd be more economical that way. Also, 1 new ep a month would mean they'd be in different stages of production on a bunch of different shows all the time, which would really wear you down after a while. Michelle, am I close on any of this?

It is almost pavlovian in its ability to elicit laughter from me...it's getting as bad as Beavis doing his "Cornholio" number for me. Other than that, I don't think there is any other reason *to* deal with the shows in clumps. Perhaps if "Daria" stuck with using Rough Draft Korea for their overseas shop they might be able to get away with sending one episode at a time...they have bilingual, clueful people on staff there to maintain quality control. But they also use Plus One which from all their work I have seen is very likely to screw up a show if they are not very well supervised.

I could be wrong, but I think I'm probably right on here.
