Are they actually bothering any more or are they just stupid? I'd have thought Ms Lee's line about grabbing the sports company by the happy sacks would have hit the cutting room floor. Not to mention the bit where Jake blurts out 'but we've just done that' when Helen was going on about intimacy.

Depends was it innuendo or real swaering then again the butcheries of "College Bored" and to a lesser extent "Malled" & "Missery Chick" would go against that theory.

Marriage and children are not necessarily proof of physical intimacy. Remember Michael Jackson and whatshername (the woman who had his child). ;)
As a note - she was grabbing the sports company by their "hacky sacks," not happy sacks. It refers to a game called footbag (www.worldfootbag.com) where you kick this little bag of rice or seeds around without letting it hit the ground.
I don't think they've ever tried to remove inferences about Jake and Helen having sex. I mean, they grope each other all through "Depth Takes a Holiday" and Quinn talks about how they are going to having another baby because why else would they be, "_you know_". And in "Road Worrier" it implies that Jake and Helen "do it" once the girls leave.
