As we all know, Daria (along with her family) moved to Lawndale, made a few allies, gained (and later broke up with) a temporary boyfriend and survived the seventh level of Hell (high school) to earn a position at a good college, Raft.
But suppose that it had happened differently...
Would Daria have been an outcast at Riverdale, Casper High or (brrrrr) Springfield?
Would it have been amusing (or, at least, watchable) if she (or another character) had received a spell book or super powers or rescued a cat from some mean children?
Although the show was a much needed breath of fresh air, I'm still curious about the number of writers and artists who tried to improve upon it so, if you have any favorites in the fiction and fan art departments, please feel free to mention them.
My own favorites (although they don't feature any wish-granting godparents) include
Caught!!! by 'Ramsey' an 'adult' fanfic that could bolster SpikeTV's currently sinking ratings ;)
The Devil in Miss Morgendorffer by 'Brother Grimace' A gritty yet enjoyable tale of a joke gone bad
and
A Midsummer Nightmare's Daria by 'Roger Moore' A great follow up to IICY (although I noticed that the author didn't like Kevin very much) {:^)
