Q: If B&B begat Daria, then why no Mike J credits?

QUESTION:

If Daria came from the Bevis & Butthead cartoon originally, then why isn't Mike Judge mentioned in the credits?

Could it be they move so fast, I'm just not seeing it?

This one gets asked quite often.

Daria, as we know her, is based on the character from B&B, but is the creation of someone else (Gene somethingorother, I think). He did it by himself, without Judge, therefore, no Judge credit.

Um, B&B was still in production when Daria premiered.

You are correct, Jessica. B&BH may still have been airing, but I'm almost sure that the decision to end it had been made when Glenn and Susie pitched the idea of a spinoff. Not being a particularly big fan of B&BH(I'll watch it, but I'm by no means a "fan"), I was not too sure on the chronology of when B&BH ended and "Daria" started.
