Trip to NY

Heya gang, I am planning on heading over to New York some time this August, and I need some info. If any of you stay there or live anywhere near by, it'd be great if you could give me some information on lodging, transportation, places to visit, etc.

Some may call me crazy for doing this.. but I'm really thinking of going to New York to attend a taping of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. I've been a huge fan for so long.. and I figured I'd finally take the bull by the horns and attend a taping while I'm still alive. Also, meeting the gorgeous host wouldn't be too bad either ;)

Hmm.. I wonder if I could drop by MTV while I'm there, and perhaps show a sign stating "SEASON 6 FOR DARIA" right outside of TRL....

Hey, it's an option ;)

Conan is gorgeous? Ummmm, okay. We all have our own tastes, so I won't say anything mean. Not that I think he's ugly or anything, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's gorgeous. :-) Anyway, I'd recommend getting tickets in advance if you can. I've gone to a few Letterman tapings that way. They have standby tickets you can get the day of the show, but the standby audience only gets in if they have empty seats. I'd check out the NBC website or see if there's a number you can call when the run the show's credits.

I think this is a good idea. Before you go, let us know what day or days you plan to show up at TRL so we can set our VCR's.

Oh yeah, I already know the number to book the tickets. Thing is, I need to confirm a few accomodation details before I book those tickets. And knowing NY lodging prices, I'm hoping to hook up with a friend who's staying nearby...

Man, I don't know if I would have the guts to do that! It would be a lot better if I had some other Daria fans with me I think :)

Well, when factoring in personality Conan wins hands-down. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If I'm looking for a hot one-night stand, I'd go for Kilborn. If I'm looking for a mate for life, I'd go with Conan.

Coming near/taping/watching TRL is mistake #1. Not that I'm judging anyone's tastes, of course. . .

Sorry. I just think all those *N Sync and Backstreet Boys videos are starting to lower my test scores. If you really pay attention, you can actually *feel* your brain cells dying each time "I'll Be the One" or "It's Gonna Be Me" is aired.
