i had a dream last night.. hanging out with trent and jane at a bookstore, looking for a gift for daria's birthday. very odd. should i be concerned that i dream about cartoon characters? anyway, this raises an interesting and fun question.. say it's daria's birthday, and you HAD to get her a gift... what would it be? --- ~Po

Sounds like a fun one to me. IMO, so long as you're not bothered when you wake up, any dream is okay. I once had a dream that Peter Pan (from Fox's "Peter Pan and the Pirates") taught me how to fly. It was my first flying dream, and I've had a good number more since then.

Easily, I get her that book I've been bugging her to try reading... (probably Magician: Apprentice, if she's never read it, which wouldn't surprise me one bit) and probably annoy the hell out of her in the process. ;p

No, it's not quite the same as fairy dust, and it costs a bit more, but it's very nearly as satisfying. More really, because it's real. It's not for everyone, but I think everyone owes it to themselves to determine if it's right for them or not. It will change your life in countless ways.

Of course I've dreamed about Daria too. And women in general. But then I've also awakened with a start and realized I'd been dreaming about integrals as well.

Probably an ultra-voiolent computer game think "Quake/Quake2/Half Life/Unreal" after all we know she wants "Canibal Frag Fest" hehehe if I had time on my hands I'd do what a group of my friends did with Doom a couple of years ago and put people like Quinn, Kevin, Upchuck's faces on the monsters.....

THAT would be cool... I'd like to do something like that with Duke Nukem.... design a four-player co-op level make Daria, Jane, Trent and Jesse the good guys, they're after everyone else in Lawndale....

"Look Daria, there's Sandi..." Daria fires her RPG.... Huh huh huh.... WASTED!

Meanwhile, Jane is firing her chaingun at Quinn......

Trent blows DeMartino away with the Devastator while Jesse sets laser tripbombs to protect the rear.....

Hmmm definite possibilities there..... now if I only had a decent level editor for Duke.....

Well I have some Bots (computer generated players that play like they where real people, for practicing deathmatch with), that are named after some of the Lawndale people (Daria, Jane, Quinn, Trent & Upchuck), now if only I could find some appropreate skins for them it would be cool....humm this has posibilities the alt.fan.daria Quake2 mod heheh I suppose it would be reasonably on topic to include Beavis & Butthead as well :-)

I've made a cartoon depicting one of the suggestions of what to get Daria as a present.... you can see it on my TV update page, <URL: http://www.xerez.demon.co.uk/TVupdate.html> and also on a link from my main Daria page.

Thanks. You realise of course that it is in fact a sneak preview of "Lane Miserables, which has a steamy sex scene between Daria & Trent. Quite amazing that C5 didn't edit it out actually...

If I could, I'd give her a day with unusual occurances. Some would be:

Quinn would introduce Daria as her *sister* not just some girl who's last name also is Morgendorffer.

Daria will be able to have an entire day without an inane question from Kevin.

She'll witness Sandi's total social humiliation (maybe she shows up at school wearing a muu-muu ).

Upchuck will be courteous and refrain from using fiesty.

And one last possibility, Trent will ask her out for pizza. Of course, he'd probably have to borrow money from Jane (does he get paid for his Mystik Spril gigs?) and just getting him out of a deep sleep is unusual... but, hey, it's Daria's birthday!

Robyn

Robyn, I think that's more like a nightmare for Daria. Ok that trent part is ok but the rest.....

I think she knows to make good use of one of thows memo recorder thingies. She shure gone bug Quinn with it.. (wich reminds me to go sample same Daria sounds for windows when I get back home frome hospital (with a little luck next saterday...)) than again, I'm a goth and I'm not that sure she'd exept me. Than again, she exept's jane...

A shapeless article of clothing. Mrs Johansen(? The "large heaving woman") wore a muu-muu.

What are the origins of the muu-muu anyway? It's not Hawaiian is it?
