i missed "pierce me..." did i miss anything?

I missed 'Pierce Me' while barfing up my guts in a public restroom during a movie. Did I *really* miss anything good? Is it worth having a panic attack over, or what?

Most Spielberg movies could make anyone sick. Of course of haven't seen "Saving Private Ryan" yet, so I won't make a snap judgement.

Hah hah. That *was* the movie I saw and vomited during, though. Flashing colors, screaming, and internal organs falling all over the place aren't good on a very full stomach.

It was a good movie, after I emptied my stomach, but I would have preferred Daria...maybe I wouldn't have tossed my lunch.

I really dont think Daria would like it at all. Yeah she likes that Sick Sad World show, but Private Ryan is just plain KILLING, mass murder replayed so they could catch it on tape.

Well, I have seen "Ryan". And speaking as (perhaps) the only, or one of a very few, members in this newsgroups who's been in an actual shooting war (Desert Storm) I'll say "Ryan" is the most realistic portrayal of combat I've seen on the screen. If the worst thing that happened was losing your cookies, well that isn't so bad, comparatively.

I thought it was pretty much the funniest episode of Daria ever. Those of you who think it was "out of character" for her to get her navel piereced: a) Missed the line "did something stupid for a guy", or b) missed the point, probably not only on the show but in your own life.

It was a beautiful ep, it was real, and it danced around the "Daria/Trent" issue perfectly.

I think that, to "get it", you probably have to have experience around it. To that effect, I think women beyond high school or men who REALLY paid attention get it just fine. Life experience will "get it" for everybody else eventually. That's not a put-down. It's just a fact. Someday, years down the road, you'll watch that episode again and smile and say "Oh yeah. That's not what I meant. I was saying that I don't know why someone would do something stupid for someone else.

Well, from what I understand, Daria has a crush type thing for Trent. Now, (and I wouldn't know about this. I'm taking from observation) when you *really* like someone, you would do anything, just to have them. Even if it's stupid.

I think that Daria acted just like many people her age (and some even much older) would, which is probably what p.o.'ed some people. It adds to the charm of the show--she's not some comedic robot force-programmed into loner mode forever, she's a dynamic human being who still has a lot to learn about life. Life is not always taught in books or in class-- oftentimes you just gotta go out there and learn from your own stupidity, and the best lessons are usually the most painful ones.

As for the whole Daria/Trent thing, don't forget that he IS 21, and she's 16. I'd say she's a bit young for him now. Maybe after a few years, something'll happen, but I doubt that the writers will succumb to such pressure if they like their jobs. (See, e.g., "Moonlighting".)

Finally, I loved the scene at the clothing shop window, "You'd look good in that." Nice touch.

Not yet. Seriously, that's how it always begins, very small.

In that episode a lot was going on with Trent and Daria. The episode showed that they both like each other, but it might not happen sence Daria is Jane's friend, and Jane would definitly not go for it.
