What is a scrunchie?

In THE DARIA DIARY (or maybe THE DARIA DATABASE) Quinn has on her list of things to buy various color scrunchies.

I think I've heard the term used on the show as well.

So tell me

What is a scrunchie?

A scrunchie is something hold your hair back in a ponytale. It's an elastic band with a puffy and twisted sleeve of material wrapped around it. More often then not you'll see them used like a bracelet.

This is kind of ironic really.. . my friend nick-named me "purple scrunchy" for no apparent reason. His nick- name is "Tribal hedge-monkey". Would my mom believe I was writing about hair-scrunchies on the internet? Probably not. Oh well...since Quinn the Brain was mentioned, let's see if anyone remembers the first episode a hair scrunchie appears in Quinn's possession. Shouldn't be too hard for ya' all (and before you ask, I'm not a southerner).

This will be a no-brainer for some.

Ok I'll bite from what I rember the opening scene of "The Invatation" when the three J's are asking Quinn if they can carry things the last one to ask says "got anything else(that he can carry for quinn", and she replies "A hair Scrunchie".

Humm sad that I can rember this without having to refer to transcriptions and the like.....perhaps I need to get out more :-)

Woah! Talk about quick response.

Of course, I AM a little surprised that someone beat Martin to the punch, but there you have it. :-) Perhaps I, too, should get out more, but it's so easy to relax with a Daria episode at the end of the day.

So, getting back to the original message in this thread, if you want more than a verbal description of a scrunchie (despite the skill of several in giving a description of an obscure object), take a look at "The Invitation."
