Don't know how much you guys were aware, but several of us fans got together and created a Daria fanzine designed to be printed out in hard copy and distributed to fans who don't use the Internet. The first issue was just completed. You need to pay $5 to access it (to cover printing, distribution costs) but from then on it gets you a year's subscription, 4 issues.

Sure, it's only $5, but even printed magazines can be browsed through in your local supermarket before you buy them. :-) Perhaps you guys could think about putting some teasers for each issue online, sort of as a "carrot" to lure the fans and let them see what you're asking them to pay for? Might get you a few more subscribers than just asking us to take a blind leap of faith, which most people are generally reluctant to do with their hard-earned cash. :-)

The kinks are still being worked out, but that's definitely something to bring to the group. I agree that a teaser article or two would be a nice way to draw people in. I also think that if people don't want to use PayPal, there ought to be a place in the US or Canada, as well as Australia, where money can be sent. Alan Benard (aka Um) seems to be taking the lead in the distribution process, so I'll see if he'd be willing to offer up an address near him.
