I was just wondering, how far along are the episodes are in other countries?

In the UK Chennel 5 have shown every episode up until 309 "Jane's Addition" though some of us on here (me included), have been watching S4 on Real video, guess that won't happen for the second part of the series :(

Personally, I don't mind knowing the story beforehand, so I will still read spoilers, I do seem to be pretty unique in this tho.

"Jane's Addition" is # 309? Hmmm... I wonder how the production order is done in the UK, since "JA" was #313 in the States (& was the Season 3 finale).

Makes me wonder if you guys will see all the S3 eps over there, even a couple of less-than-stellar ones (IMO) that I wouldn't mind NEVER seeing over here again! [FYI, those eps are "The Lost Girls"(#306) and "Just Add Water (# 312).]

Nah, we (in the UK), have seen all of them (ok, ok, they've all been transmitted :) ). "The Lost Girls" I agree on, but only cause of Val. Quite liked "Just Add Water" though.

Agreed with both of those assessments, throw in #303 while you're at it:-) Though I believe the production number in the US for "The Lost Girls" was #305, #306 was "It Happened One Nut"

BTW, I know it's the mid-season break, but where is everyone? I've counted maybe 20 posts in the last 4-5 days. Is it just dead as a morgue in here or what's going on?

Yeah, I think you're right. I got my production #s off a bit in my head b/c they showed #307 (Daria!) as the season premiere, then they showed 301-305. (And I minded #303's holidays-come-to-life a whole lot less than the lame-o plot of #312's Just Add Water.)

One question about DTAH: where were all the Jewish holidays? Why wasn't there a character for Chanukah? And what about Kwanza? And come on, no Easter bunny? No New Year's Eve?? No Groundhog Day?

Dunno -- I haven't been checking in more than once or twice a week myself since ILAP aired. I guess my life just keeps getting in the way of what's REALLY important: watching my Daria tapes & discussions on atd. (And marking the moments until the next new ep airs.)

(And losing this unhealthy 30+ pounds.)

(And finding a better-paying job.)

(And getting my long-overdue check from Ed McMahon.)

(And scheduling my opthamologist appointment.)

(Oh, yeah, and my dental appointment too.)

(And planning that 4th of July trip to see my sister in Florida.)

(And the late-summer trip to visit my best friend/ex-fiance.)

(And getting some sleep -- it's after midnight.)

(And watching that Iron Chef rerun -- it's one of my favorites: the Tuna Battle between Iron Chef Italian & that wine expert!)

Me.. I'm just enjoying my time off, and fixing up my website while I have time. I'm probably going to freelance for some web-zines, write a few pieces for a local community paper, and attend a couple of summer classes. I wonder what it means when I actually think of work and school as having fun :)

No, i am still in year 12. All my courses are modular though, which is good because it reduces the amount of hassle involved in retaking the modules you fail. If i don't get As in the upcoming ones, i can do them all again in january, and if i still don't get As i can try again in june.

Is your website ready for perusal? I'm just curious so I invite you to post or e me the link to it. I have one I'll be putting up soon but it's a company thing and other than the initial graphic it's nothing extraordinary. No spinning butttons with fireworks or anything. :)

To get myself back on topic, is it just my imagination or do the newer Daria episodes seem more formulaic? It just seems that Daria and Jane take turns making a dry comment but it doesn't seem like natural converstion. Maybe it's just that it's getting old to me, I'm not sure.

The only thing formulaic that I see are:

Some eps you'll see every year, 1-2 field trip eps, 2-3 character development eps, a fantasy type ep.

Some situations you'll see that haven't advanced in plot yet, the Helen-Jake marriage thing, the Quinn-Sandi thing, etc. I hope i'm wrong, but you probably won't see any type of definite conclusion to these plotlines until the last half of the last season of the show.

Mind you, personally it's been a great season so far and I hope it continues in the 2nd half and movie. Basically, there are many elements of high school the writers haven't even touched on, but you get the same things over and over, which is ok if you can put a different twist on it every time which these writers have for the most part. A bit more diversity of plotlines, or a bit of actual advancement of some of the long standing plotlines would be great, also, I do appreciate the work that the staff puts into the show, to show i'm not ungrateful and not just complaining I thank you all for the effort you put into each show, this is the only show on television I try and clear my schedule for to watch the new eps, also the only one where I have all the eps on tape. These were just some suggestions, on behalf of everyone on this group, to any and all staff members of Daria, we thank you for all the hard work you put into the show, it's greatly appreciated.

Possibly some, but not nearly everyone here.

Probably where I should be:-) Makes sense, a combination of all above factors, most likely.

It means you're in a rare group, who enjoy their work and get more rewards from doing the work than in any other way, if it makes you happy, and you have fun with it, then by all means do it!

Glad to see I'm not the only one noticing this.....could be MTV's insistense on not giving out any details on upcoming episodes or maybe there were a lot more negative posts than we realized, and with those people gone.....or it could be spring.

But I *have* found time to immerse myself in music. Duran Duran, Arcadia, Japan, David Sylvian, Kraftwerk (played that exclusively yesterday), Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Tears for Fears, Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music, and the like. Read somewhere on this newsgroup how someone dislikes the Bloodhound Gang song "The Bad Touch"...ummm...I adore that song...it has a really neat Human League sample...it's hilarious...the video cracks me up...and Jimmy Pop Ali (leader of the Bloohound Gang) once did a really neat interview with John Taylor (former bassist, Duran Duran). Favorite piece of software: Napster. Oh yes, and my free ISP's...I signed up for free ISP WorldSpy (www.worldspy.net)...currently am connected to it, in fact...

As far as I know, the US is the only country where any Series Four episodes have been shown.
