Favorite song from Daria

There are so many good songs from the show but mine would have to be "Save Yourself" by Stabbing Westward from 1ll. I listen to it everyday. What is yours?

I know how you feel The songs I hear on Daria RARELY get any airlplay on the local stations. If I'm lucky, I can pick up so-called "alternative" stations in Birmingham or at Auburn University. I can't complain though -- there was a period not too long ago where we didn't even have (shudder) TOP 40 stations in Montgomery!

But, back to the topic at hand: I am becoming a fan of Cake since hearing their music on Daria. Favorite songs: "Rock-n-Roll Lifestyle" (end credits of Road Worrier) and "Daria" (end credits of The New Kid). Also liked hearing Lightning Seeds ("You Showed Me" in Road Worrier and "Pure " in Depth Takes a Holiday) and "Kiss Me" (Daria Dance Party). And anything they can fit in by Pet Shop Boys.

Best episode musically: Road Worrier, hands down. As I've said before, this ep alone could fill a Daria Soundtrack CD. I watch this episode over & over as much for the music as much for -- well, that OTHER thing which seems to be on the shelf now.

I'll probably add to this post as more songs pop into my head.

nobody at my school knows it. there is one "manics fan", who i doubt owns anything other than the last two albums. he didn't get a reference i made to the "4 REAL incident", so he can't be much of a fan considering that is mentioned in pretty much every article written about the manics. but anyway, if someone said '4st 7lb' was about me i'd probably give some reply about how i never managed to get below 5st 9lb, despite the laxative overdoses. lol. (i have no idea why anyone was worried about me, i was such a crap anorexic. lol.)

Hmm... two points here, but I have a feeling they're gonna get mangled into this evil-looking mutated Siamese point :p. One, in America, it seems people regard Alanis as serious, "heavy" angst. Now, I've nothing against Alanis, but *reads Holy Bible lyric sheet*... I don't think there'd be any problem with the lyrics (other than that they'd get banned by wal-mart, lol) - some of the stuff about Welshness might not make as much sense, but that's mainly in the richeyless albums neway, and Ifwhiteamericaetc. is about America, for Chrissake. Personally, I think she'd treat them rather like Andrea; cool to have around, but you wouldn't want your mind to live there.

I agree. I wnet out and bought both albums after I heard them the first time. I wasn't a real big fan of R.E.M. but after I got the album with "Everybody Hurts" on it they became one of my favorite groups.

i like that song and others on that album, but i haven't bought it because it's priced at �15.99 in virgin... i don't *have* �15.99. i need a job. :(

You need a used CD store very very badly. You should never have to buy a new CD unless you absolutely HAVE to... trust me, the used ones don't have cooties. ;-) (And they're dirt cheap, too-- $15 CDs go for about $8-$9 used. That means you can almost buy 2 for 1.)

I have to agree with rich. Outside of the clearance bin in sales, I'll rarely buy a new CD in the shops now. Secondhand are my first choice. Some of my obscurer tastes in music never appear secondhand, and I buy these online.

Were I you, Alli, I'd put together a list and save up a few pence or shillings, or whatever they're called, and the next time you hit a big city, (preferably one with a University in it), head to the nearest independent music seller's place-- but only look through the used piles. It's amazing what college/university students will get rid of. ;-)

BTW, if anyone knows where I can find a copy of Divine Comedy's "Gen X Girlfriend (?)" or anything by the Impossibles, please let me know.

There are many songs I like, but the reason this song is special is because of the many moons spent asking, "Does anyone know what that song from 'The Big House' is??" When we finally learned the answer, joy spread throughout the land. :-)
