Jake In #502 (Possible Spoilers)

     Jake's adventures in #502 certainly brought a smile to my face.  Here you
have a man with slightly above average intelligence who almost accidentally
convinces a group of geniuses that he is "one of them".  The results are
hilarious and remind me of two tales with similar storylines.
     The first is "I.Q.", a film starring Tim Robbins as a bright auto mechanic
who causes Einstein's brilliant niece (adroitly played by Meg Ryan) to
mistakenly believe him to be one of the world's foremost authority's on nuclear
physics.
     The second is "Gifted", an episode of "Beavis and Butt-head" (and oddly
having the same title as #208 of "Daria") wherein B&B take an intelligence test
in high school and miraculously score in the 99th percentile!  (Their high
marks were entirely a product of random luck - the dimwits basically guessed on
everything - a million to one shot, I suppose - although I know precious little
about the subject of probability).  Anyway, B&B are promoted to the "Gifted
Class" and their subsequent interactions with the members of that class make
for a lot of laughter.        Well, that's about it.  Thanks for reading.

I should check out that film one of these days. I'd always heard of it.

What about "Bart the Genius"? The very first episode of the Simpsons? Bart manages to scam himself into a gifted kids class and some points at home.

He switched test papers with Martin...maybe someday Sandi will try that tric k on Quinn, if Quinn *really* realizes her potential. :-)
