What the HELL was THAT all about?
I've never disliked a single Daria episode ever, I liked the Musical, even the New Kid, but this... it was just way too _weird_
Cupid flying around? Halloween as some goth chick? Christmas as a cynical teenager? Some place called Holiday Island where all the Holidays go to some HIGH SCHOOL?
COME ON.
I agree with whoever said it earlier - that there really should have been a disclaimer before it was done. Like "This is what would happen if holidays were people" or something like that. Rather than just jumping headlong into it with a totally unbelievable plot.
That's my main peeve really. [address] had a believable plot, Lawndale had a hurricane crisis and the characters were trying to save themselves. That's why I gave them credit, and I accepted the dancing and the singing. But DTAH? Exactly WHAT is believable about this plot? OK, granted that we saw new developments in Jake & Helen's marriage, confirmations on Daria's crush (as if we needed it), further ostracization of Quinn in the Fashion Club, and there was the usual theme of the "popular kids" controlling high school. But that was all overshadowed by the completely ridiculous plotline. [address] was fun. This, I'm sorry to say, wasn't.
Did I laugh at some moments? Sure I did. Choice lines from Jane usually saved the episode for me, and I chuckled at the "This is worse than high school" line. But those weren't enough to save the episode completely.
I'm sorry guys, but I give this one a D.
