I was lucky enough to get out of work early and see today's 3pm airing.
I don't think I've seen this episode before. It looks very familiar but everyone is acting so out of character.
Seriously, this is the worst 3pm blunder I've seen yet. Hilarious and sad at the same time.
What did they have on at 3pm yesterday? Was it "The Misery Chick"?

It was so bad that it appeared as though Jane's voice was coming out of Daria's mouth. It remained out of sync until the begining of act two. hopefully the west coast airing will be fine.

Well, the West Coast feed of "Arts & Crass" was FIXED!!!!! It was fixed in a rather strange way: they seem to have INSERTED a clean copy of the first and second acts of the episode in the tape from the East Coast airing. So for the first and second commercial break, you had commercials with the 10 second delay, but "Daria" was aired properly.
I have been busy for the past 2 1/2 hours relaying incident reports from alt.tv.daria, Lawndale Commons Message Bored, and bug reports filed from the bug report form on LC to Daria Headquarters. The mental image of a very pissed off and loaded for bear Glenn Eichler storming into MTV Net Ops with a sheaf of printed out messages and slamming them on that division's supervisor's desk is irrevocably etched in my mind.
Thanks to everyone who spoke up about the screwup...we actually saw some action today!

I say amusing because the lip syncing was perfect for about 1/3rd of the act, hearing Jake's voice come out of Daria's mouth was surreal and confusing. Once I caught on I couldn't stop laughing.
Be sure to rest your fingers. Between this incident and the new episode (it gets better everytime I watch it) there should be plenty to talk about on tonight's DALnet chat. Plus we'll get to watch Paperpusher and CW Majors play their Christ figure games using Glenn and the rest of the Daria staff. :-)

What time zone do you live in? Because I noticed the exact same thing happening to me, and I live in the Central time zone. I hated the out of sync- ness of it all, which made it really disappointing for me to view the episode seeing as though I'd been looking so very forward to seeing it again.
As you remember the only episodes I hadn't seen more than once were "Esteemers" and "Arts n' Crass". I got a chance to see "Esteemers" (or "Esteemters") again during the "Daria Night" just prior to the season premiere, and when I was finally able to be home early (a real rarity) yesterday, I just screamed and jumped up and down when I saw "Arts n' Crass" was going to be the episode of the day. Then to view the episode and see those vocals out of sync...it was pure disappointment...although "TRL" actually managed to make me feel better by having "Blue Monday" in the Top 10 *sigh of relief*.
Ah well...maybe next time.... :)
