Daria and "Can't Hardly Wait"

Although they've showed the Dye Dye my Darling episode many times since!!!! = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = You know, ever since the "Dye,Dye, My darling" episode, I knew that the car scene reminded me of something.

Now i remember what it is. In the movie "Can't Hardly Wait", Seth Green and that red-headed girl in the bathroom at the party. They're sitting there. He reaches over and unexpectedly kisses her. After about a second or two of what the hell was that, they make out.

Finally. I've been going crazy for the past week trying to figure out how that scene seemed familiar. Anyone else think so?

I hope the Daria writers allow Tom and Daria some time together. Jane seems to be the only one getting lucky. Remember "The Invitation"? The famous line, "He thought my head was a lollipop."

I'm not complaning, although I do think it's an overused plot device, and I don't think it happens nearly as often IRL as on TV. I'm just surprised that anyone was surprised. I saw it coming the moment she got in the car.

I don't mind the current story line, and they're doing a great job with it, but I do miss the rest of the cast and the potshots at school, popularity, and society. I'm hoping they get back to those basics as the Daria-Jane-Tom situation settles down. Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to it.

I really don't believe they've gotten away from those storylines in the show. They tend to keep them more in the first half of the season. As for the Jane-Tom-Daria situation settling down, I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon if DDMD is any indication. They'll probably continue it into the fifth season. But I don't think it's going to dominate the proceedings, just make them interesting.
