Don't know if this has been thrashed about before as I've been gone for a while, but was anyone who watched Mtv's Dariathon torqued that they didn't show the sidebars at the end of each episode? I sure was! Oh well. Another case of interns in the control room.
MTV Dariathon

Actually, this is S.O.P. for MTV. Whenever multiple episodes are shown back-to-back, they always slice off the opening and closing credits between shows. Guess they need that additional minute or so to squeeze in another advertisement for "Road Rules" or "Real World" or "Fashionably Loud" or "MTV Video Music Awards", ad nauseum. *sigh*

Cue Quinn's voice: "And besides, who wants to see a bunch of people's names who you don't even KNOW and a bunch of silly pictures, when you can see more of those really cool ads for "Real World" and "Road Rules" with those REALLY cute guys? (giggle)?" This is what I imagine going on in the heads of the people who control such things.
Actually, we got pretty lucky with the Dariathon - none of the usual boneheaded screwups we're used to with the 2:00 showings. It could've been worse... right?
If you're talking about the all-day Daria showings on Tuesday (9 am-3 pm EST) there was (if I recall from the tape I made) one show cut off early going into commercial, and another one with the ending cut going into the next show.
Joe (and everyone else) --
If you have any info about the screw-ups, let Mr. Eichler know about it through Michelle Klein-Hass' form at Lawndale Commons. (http://welcome.to/lawndale) She'll pass the info on directly to him. And if the chopping of the opening/closing of the eps ticks you off, make a note of it on the form. If everyone does their part, well, who knows? They might actually get it all right for once.

PLEASE REPORT THIS BUG!!!
The "Daria" creative team is *collecting* incident reports like this to submit to the head technical people at MTV. I have created an online form to make the bug-submission process easier. It lives at:
http://www.2cowherd.net/catseye/thecommons/bugreport.html
The results of this form are forwarded by me directly to "Daria" offices at MTV.
Give it a go, and make your complaint COUNT!!!

Okay, I reported it as requested.

Which reminds me... as I caught the triple shot of OH on Monday (still on vacation... ahh...) I saw a few (a few? ha! a dozen, at least!) ads for the next Road Drools adventure in, yes, Latin America. It's not enought to insult Latin American countries by exploiting them for pennies per hour labor, or financing death squads and dictatorships, no, we have worse things planned for them. We make them have to tolerate a group of shallow suburbanites stuck in an RV that costs enough to build decent housing for many people there, while the Road Droolers will complain about how the humid air makes their hair frizz, and how the TV stations suck because there's no football on, and why don't any of these places have air conditioning because you get all sweaty and icky and can anyone do anything about these bugs and Jim is really starting to get on my nerves the way he's always calling me a shallow little poser I just hate it when he does that it's not my fault that....
You get the idea.
*sigh* rich.
Jane: You know, I don't know why people say we have a bad attitude.
Daria: Screw 'em.
Right. They could have not shown Daria at all.

Or created some lame Gen-X show where the people are not actors, and are followed around with camera's. These people could constantly bitch about the dumbest things.
Then there could be 2 such shows.
THEN they could show them incessantly.

Don't forget the "Now" and "Jock Jams" CD compilations. Now you can hear Hanson, the Spice Girls, and Chumbawhatever-thier-name-is by buying 2 CDs instead of 3. I thought the "best of MTV weekend" was going to be 48 hours of Daria, without commercials, what a let-down.

Nothing, actually... I listen one of his albums once in a while. Just thought it would be a nice addition to the list, because the only other person I know IRL who listens to him won't admit it in public.
