Has Daria ever cried? Has she ever let her facade of indeference fall? At the funeral of her grandparents, perhaps? Do you think she'll ever hug her parents? She's too cynical about everything. She'd make a lousy mother.

It's not a facade, she's genuinely indeferent. She defers to no one.

You're a real "up" kind of person, aren't you? I didn't even know they'd died.

They're much too smart to fall for that trick. Not after that time she gave her sister Quinn the Heimlich maneuver -- the trouble was, Quinn wasn't choking on anything at the time. Still, it serves Quinn right for letting Daria sneak up behind her like that, don't you think?

She's not cynical, she's just drawn that way.
