Morality Plays

They're good when done in a non-trite fashon, which is very hard to do. The last two episodes have been morality plays of some kind, and personally I didn't think that it was done very well.

A lot of people in the US think British TV must be great, because PBS runs some of your best shows, but *only* the best, of course, which a lot of US viewers don't stop to think about.

I still love the old Sherlock Holmes series with the late Jeremy Brett. Gotta get those old tapes out.

Yes, it is. Brett died *way* before his time.

And they were eventually going to film the *entire* series - all the Holmes stories by Doyle.

I taped all the ones they did, though.

Is the whole series on DVD? I've kinda been looking for a good excuse to get a DVD player. I watched my old tape of "A Scandal in Bohemia" last night and it IS starting to fade slightly...

US network programming totally sucks. That's why I only watch cable besides PBS over the air. The History channel kicks ass, and is practically the only channel I watch besides HBO. I also watched MTV while B&B were on, and will cease watching it once Daria is over. English programming, at least what we get here on PBS as you mentioned, is good. I liked the "Hallo! Hallo!" thing they were playing. (are they still showing it?).

My point was that PBS only shows the *best* British shows. I know Americans who have lived in Britain for an extended period of time, and they didn't find run-of-the-mill British TV any better than American TV.

I don't watch network TV either, except for sports.

Plus the witch hunts we had for suspected pedeophiles, most of which (scuze the pun), where aimed at people who where totally inoocent. Oh the blind sheep mentality is sadly to say very much alive and well here (in the UK) too.
