Ep #503: Stacy takes the new vertebrae out for a road test

Spoiler Space / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Everybody's awarding kudos to Stacy in FLM for talking back to Tiffany when Tiffany deserved it. I agree, but let's face it. Tiffany is not a particularly intimidating person. Sandi has always been the one who could make Stacy cave in with an ugly stare.

To me, the high point of Stacy's assertiveness so far was in the next-to-the-last scene of FLM when Quinn disagrees with Sandi and Stacy says "I agree with Quinn." Then Tiffany (who probably felt the need to make up with Stacy at that point) says "Me too." With the rest of the FC united against her, Sandi is forced to modify her position.

Well, Stacy could be intimidated by just about anybody before FLM. In IIFY, she cringed several times after an "Ewwww, Stacy" from Tiffany.

The real battle wasn't Stacy vs Tiffany or Stacy vs Sandi. It was Strong Stacy vs Weak Stacy, and Strong Stacy finally won.

Yes, Stacy's response was great and indicated that she's changed for more than just a moment.

And having the FC united against her didn't stop Sandi in the beginning of the episode from announcing "you're all overruled". She now knows they're not intimated by her anymore.

Well, she knows Quinn and Stacy aren't intimidated by her anymore. That's what breaking a leg, becoming chubby due to muscular atrophy (and probably eating too much due to self-pity), resigning from the Fashion Club then getting Quinn to resign (leaving Stacy to take charge since Tiffany's next to worthless), and then exercising to lose all the weight she gained does to a person. As for Tiffany, she tends to go with whoever is "ahead" at the time, so her going against Sandi isn't worth as much as the other two going against Sandi.

It is plausible, you're right about that. The experience of taking responsibility can, if the person has the intelligence and at least the potential for a backbone, enable the person to develop a backbone. I read somewhere that circumstances don't make a person, they reveal them. That's definitely true in Stacy's case.
