Missing Nogin episodes

Is it my imagination or is Nogin running the same small subset of episodes over and over again?

It seems like they run the same 15 or so eps repeatedly.

Where, for example, is the ep where Daria gets that rash, etc, etc?

Season 1: "College Bored", "Cafe Disaffecto", "This Year's Model"

Season 2: "I Don't", "Ill"

Season 3: "Daria!", "Speedtrapped", "Just Add Water"

Season 4: "Murder, She Snored"

Season 5: "Fat Like Me", "My Night at Daria's", "Boxing Daria"

IIRC, they did show "Fat Like Me" exactly once, early on.

I suppose I can understand them not airing "my night at Daria's", although given the content of some of their other programming, I don't see why.

What, for example, is wrong with "I Don't," "Ill" or "Boxing Daria"?

I guess that's why they cut so much out of the episodes they do show - like the substitute teacher coming on to Tiffany in "Lucky Strike".

Then they show ads for their other shows which seem even more brazen. Weird.

College Bored -- probably the drinking game, Quinn as "keg queen," students paying for papers, the frat pledge who asks Helen for her panties to run up the flagpole

Cafe Disafecto -- Melody Powers might be a little too intense for the Noggin crowd? (There's also the whole "incitement to riot" thing. And "Hamlet" has a skull in it!)

I Don't -- after the whole priests-molesting-children deal in the news over the past year, the scene with the minister appearing to hit on Quinn may rub a lot of folks the wrong way; there's also that major brawl at the reception. (Oh, yeah -- didn't Lerman make some sort of remark about swallowing drain cleaner?)

Ill -- Can't think of anything at the moment (other than that really grody club? That wasn't so offensive.)

Daria! -- G*h -G*h-d***it --need I say more? (Well, yes: Brittany being asked to point "those things" the other way when she, Kevin, Jane & Daria are trapped on the roof in the shed; also, Helen sings "half-assed job"; Trent appears briefly in his boxers & in woman's lingerie; Jake is in his boxers at the window for all the neighbors to see)

Speedtrapped -- the implication that Quinn goes to bars and drives without a license on dates; jail; Daria gunning the car at Travis; picking up Travis the hitchhiker in the first place, implication of domestic violence (the woman in Jane's cell who beat her husband the judge)

Just Add Water: teenagers in a floating casino; DeMartino's gambling problem

Murder, She Snored -- Kevin's gruesome murder

Fat Like Me -- maybe N! didn't like the way weight issues & girls' self image were handled? Daria & Jane betting on the demise/survival of the Fashion Club

My Night at Daria's -- teenagers contemplating havng sex; rumors that Daria had black high heels (the whole implication that she had kinky-ish sex with Tom)

Boxing Daria -- Firing the 65-year-old woman into space on a rocket on Sick Sad World, Jake & Helen fighting (??), Quinn's repeated use of the word "freakin'"

Is It College Yet -- Lindy's drinking problem, use of the word "bastard" after Daria breaks up with Tom, Upchuck pairing off with Andrea

Mind you, I'm just speculating here. These may not be the reasons these eps havent been shown on the N!, but, as a lawyer I'm trained to see every situation from the other side when I'm researching a case. And here, I'm just trying to see these eps from the viewpoint of a hypersensitive, overly-protective, underpaid, rear-end-so-tight-they-can-squeeze-a-piece-of-coal-into-a-diamond, makes-Ashcroft -look -like-a-libertine Standards & Practices schmuck. (And, as I've ranted about before, I don't see what the big deal is when Degrassi -- which comes on BEFORE Daria --has covered much of the same material already.)

I don't even care why they censor certain things or why anymore -- all I know is that Daria doesn't beonlg on the N!, any more than The Simpsons or Harvey Birdman, Attorney-at-Law or Aqua Teen Hunger Force would.

Sign the on-line petitions, write the e-mails & snail mails, make the phone calls, do what you gotta to get Daria off the (e)N!(d) and onto another network that will show it more respect.
