No "Daria" today...preempted by a stupid "My So Called Life" mini-marathon.
I need a break from waiting here for Richie to get home so I can pick up my Macintosh from the shop...the tension is driving me nuts. Time to fire up my "Daria" videotapes then...

That's a matter of opinion. I never believe it is ok to condemn another person's taste in anything, but I personally think that it could not possibly be more off on what High School is like until they show it on saturday morning on NBC.

1. There is more to MTV fans than us. If That So Called Show (or even it's illegitamate child on the WB, Dawson's Creek) gets more ratings, they will show it.

"Daria" is great, but one really has to wonder if MTV is the right home for it with bullshit scheduling moves like this. If another network would agree to pick up the tab -- and not interfere with the creative process (unlike Nikelodeon with "Ren & Stimpy") -- I'd be the first to sign a petition of support...

NOT that I like MSCL, It didn't appeal to me on Network, It doesn't appeal on Cable, but I could do WITHOUT the Daily Daria. Really. I've seen most of the episodes a skillion times already. I have them on tape. Massive overkill. I'll probably watch intermittantly from now until season 3 and just OD on fanfic in the meantime. Something new, if not necessarily fresh. So, MTV, keep the Monday Night ep on the schedule and don't screw with it, but lose the daily. Run some real videos instead.
A girl can dream, right? (Of videos. I NEVER see videos on MTV except for the request hour, but I wonder where they see these vids to vote on them in the first place!)

Just for the sake of balance, I'll disagree. I'm still trying to get all of the eps on tape, a difficult achievement as I work during the day, and go to school in the mornings and evenings. What with all of the recent screw-ups at MTVNO, it's frustrating to *not* get a good copy of the ep you wanted, and have to wait only 4-5 weeks to get another shot at it. And while reruns may get old, frankly it's still very watchable even in reruns, even more than many first-run shows on the so-called Major Networks. (Am I the only person that thinks that most of the stuff on after 8PM really, well, um, sucks?)
And while most of us have seen all of the eps (some of us many more times than some others of us), there's still a vast, untapped pool of people who may yet "stumble" upon it. Give them a chance, too. :-) Remember, the more people that watch it, the more eps they'll make. Who knows? Maybe they'll even green-light a movie.
I wouldn't've ordinarily posted, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the folks at MTV keep an eye on this NG, and I want them to know that not everyone wants to do away with the Daily Dose. At least not yet. :-)
As for MSCL, I never really could sit still and watch it for more than 3 minutes without being able to find something better on. It just wasn't very believeable to me. Of course, YMMV.
