Isn't it odd that Brittany and Jodie have the same last names as two of the three astronauts in "Planet of the Apes"? (Taylor and Landon, played so adroitly by Charlton Heston and Robert Gunner, respectively) Moreover, Jane in a Statue of Liberty outfit was a prominent first season alter-ego. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.
