Visitors are randomly presented with one of two very brief feedback questionnaries, and can choose to answer or merely to see the current statistics.
As I write this, all the stats are at zero (well, I'm not going to vote myself, am I now?).

That *is* the problem with offsite feature providers like Bravenet. The cookies that inhibit multiple voting don't irritate me, but I'm not enthusiastic about the ones that banner advertisers place. Call me paranoid if you will! Mind you, Bravenet are no worse than any other advertising-sponsored site for this, AFAICS.
I use Mark Sweeney's Cookie Cop URL: http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/info.html?fcode=0015GA&b=pcm to automatically accept or reject cookies from sites I specify. It's easier than using the accept/reject dialogue. It gives me a list of cookies transferred in my browser session, with an easy option to accept them from that site in future, or reject them in future and wipe that site's cookies from my disk.

I haven't tried that survey so I don't know what the issue is with that page but I find quite a few webpages which have drop down lists are non-functional often there's no "submit" or "go" button to press so when I select an option from the list nothing happens. The reason seems to be that such pages are using javascript to make something happen the moment a menu item is selected, which only works of course if you surf with javascript turned on. I just visited Adobe's site yesterday to find out about Photoshop 6, but everytime I clicked on something it took me back to the page I'd been before, after going round twice I gave up but I suspect that a reliance on javascript rather than HTML for webpage navigation was the problem again.

Are you perhaps another Opera user? 4.02 is definitely persnickity about javascript. Sometimes IDing as IE or Mozilla helps, sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah one of the reasons I made the deliberate desision not to use javascript was that it isn't supported by all browsers. Then again there wasn't really anything I wanted to do that needed it....don't really go in for glitzy stuff myself (not that I'm sugesting anyone here does either :) )

no, a new ISP is useful when your ISP doesn't allow server-side scripts. ;) BTInternet's scripts are pretty crap - the mailform one is fine, the guestbook one is barely functional so i don't use it - but i'll move my site somewhere else at some point.

But until I see an ISP offering better service than Freeserve, at the same cost as Freeserve, I'm staying put.
Can you upload your own scripts to BTInternet? Freeserve doesn't allow this, preferring security over functionality (naughty things can be done with rogue scripts, it seems).
