Hi y'all ...see ya later!

Hey everyone, I'm back! I've been away this week, trying to recover from the flu & track down all my relatives who fled from Hurricanes Gert & Floyd this week. As I write this, a tropicla depression is lurking in the Gulf of Mexico. The Weather channel predicts that it could become T.S. Harvey in the next 12 hours (What kind of name is HARVEY for a storm? Would you be afraid of anything called HARVEY? Such a name could be misleading -- Hurricane Opal didn't sound scary, but it made a horrific mess of Alabama 4 years ago.) Anyway, the WC is postulating that the storm could take a turn to the northeast, dumping heavy rain on Florida, Georgia, and (sigh) the Carolinas. (Hey, Paperpusher, you ever consider moving someplace hurricane-free? North Dakota is sounding pretty good to me right about now -- it'll be the first place I've lived that HASN'T experienced a hurricane or tropical storm.)

Anyway, I'm still kinda sniffly & hoarse from the flu -- and I've got a big job interview tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

we have a guy named Harvey on the Neil Innes list I think... he's kinda scary :)

I still think they should stick to female names. Give women a chance to cause mass destruction. Men did already- they're called wars.

I've always thought hurricanes were, generally speaking, more woman-like. Once you get 'em all wound up, they blow around (rant and rave) to/over everything in sight (think PMS jokes) until they reach a stable target- usually a man <g> (land) and then they slowly wind down as they releas their anger. Men, on the other hand, seem more like tornados in their anger- quick, focused, and fierce.
