As I mentioned in another message, my idea for the main crime that will be solved by our private eyes D and J is arson. Another poster came up with the characteristic-items-stolen idea. I do not oppose that idea and am always willing to change the plot according to wishes from you. However, I do not see any good conclusion for that plot. Who steals all that stuff and why? If you want that plot-line, please send me a conclusion for that plot via email (email, because I don't want such a huge spoiler posted here). If you have other ideas about the main crime or even oppose the complete private-eye idea, you better post your ideas soon (general idea, here, conclusion via private email to me). If I don't get any input I will start detail-work on the private-eye-arson-plot. I do not rule out the possibility of throwing the whole plot away and starting a new one even after starting detail work, but after putting energy into writing details I won't throw it away unless a suggested replacement has extraordinary qualities. But please don't abstain from posting ideas just because you think they're not good enough. It's not too soon to think about D-tag 2 (and 3 and 4 and 5... :-) MSB
p.s.: Even though experience has taught me never to make a statement about how long something will take, I'll do it anyway. My current estimate is that the main plot and all side-plots will be completed by X-mas this year. To clarify, by "plot" I mean what happens where, who is involved, what puzzles have to be solved how. It does NOT include dialogs. Once the plot is finished I will try to recruit volunteers for the dialogs (volunteering for this is _mandatory_ for all writers of fanfic, of course). This will most probably work like this: I give a situation and what outcome(s) the dialog is supposed to have (if any, of course there will be some dialogs just for fun) and the volunteer writes the actual dialog.
