Remember the picture of Tom and Daria taken by Ted in ILAP? I wonder if it's in there?

I figured that it got cut by someone on the yearbook staff who came to the same conclusions that Kevin, Brittany, and Jodie did. They're not a couple. He's her brother. She's just hanging-out with her best friend's boyfriend, etc. Had there been a picture depicting them as a couple, the reactions of her friends probably wouldn't have been so extreme.

But remember that IIFY begins just as school is ending - about the same time the yearbook would come out. They haven't had time to read it through yet - not that everybody looks at every page anyway.
The possible problem is that Jane, who has finally come to terms with the events of DDMD, could suddenly be led to believe that Tom and Daria were conducting a relationship behind her back for many months: DDMD clearly takes place no more than weeks before IIFY, which would be in late spring; ILAP would be in the fall since that's when Homecoming parades occur.

Who ever expected Daria to start dating? Tom doesn't hang out with the Lawndale crowd much so he's not that well known to them. As for the photo, I think it's going to go into that broom closet where they keep all the dangling storylines, like that mysterious driver who dropped off Daria in the beginning of "The Big House." Either that or they deal with it in season 5.

Most likely, someone on the newspaper staff who knew Jane (perhaps Jodie, if Jodie was on the staff) told Ted that Daria and Tom WEREN'T a couple (in ILAP), and either he agreed to not put it in the yearbook or else the person had it not put in.

It may be... but I would have thought that Ted's photo is the least embarrassing photo of Daria taken that day, at least from Daria's point of view... All 3 photos of Daria depict her in situations that she'd rather not have been caught in: 1: sneak attack snap by Jane trying to escape the parade with the toilet paper... 2: accosted by the fashion club on their float in front of everyone 3: caught in glorious colour by Ted while looking for Jane with Tom...
For my money, the fashion club photo is the one Daria would pay through the nose for (to use a phrase of Janes)...

The thing is, neither of the first two were destined for the yearbook. Daria and Jane have probably already come to some sort of agreement on the first, you'd think. The second Tiffany probably threw away since the makeover never came off.
But the third was, according to Ted, for a "couples" spread in the yearbook. The potential problem is that Jane could see and believe that Daria and Tom were "a couple" behind Jane's back long before DDMD.
Any other ideas why that picture (or all three) were made such a prominent part of ILAP?
