No, wicca (properly --but rarely-- pronounced "witch-uh") is an Old English word meaning "witch". You're thinking of wicker, which is an entirely different word.
Yes. It's a neopagan religion. Bizarrely enough, it was established a couple of years ago (by a druid of all people) that Wicca is an offshoot of the Scout movement, dib dib dib and all that. I suspect this has had a mixed reception from pagans, but it's important to realise that the original scout movement was probably closer to paganism than it was to the modern scouts. It could have been worse though, like being the invention of a retired civil servant or something....

Wicker is no joke, it's quite amazing the things they can make from willow twigs. Something of a dying art though I think. Actually there's probably a common root with hacking there - originally a hacker was someone who made furniture with an axe. Wicker people (I'm not sure what they're actually called, I expect they have a name) and hackers were both types of people who lived in the forests and made everything they needed from the available wood.

Something you want to talk about?
Hm. "Blair Witch Project" opens soon in the UK. I'm envisaging lots of newspaper cartoons and crap tabloid headlines about the PM now. Especially for Halloween.
today?
Well, since you asked... /begin tale of woe/
One of the benefits of working graveyard is that the highways and byways are almost empty of traffic on the way to work. The great big minus is that 90% of anyone you encounter is most likely driving drunk, 1% are highway cops, and the other 9% are poor slobs who live eight hours into the future like you do. Friday and Saturday nights are the worst.
I was scheduled to work this last weekend and had survived 19 of the 20 mile trip Friday night. The last traffic light had turned green and I was turning left to enter my place of labor when I spy two headlights looming in the starboard passenger window, quickly followed by a very loud noise and an E ticket Disneyland ride.
My car ended up already parked by the side of the road. A quick body check showed no damage to myself. I get out of the car and observe my assailant performing a weird motor ballet to get his car out of the intersection. As he accomplishes this the car that was behind him pulls over and the driver gets out.
My assailant crawls out of his car, approaches me, and barks with alcoholic fumes,"Alright! Which one of you was driving?". It's about then that I realize that I'm not in Kansas anymore. My assailant barks again,"I had the green light and you turned left right in front of me!". To which The Witness replies,"No way man. I was right behind you. You ran a red light and hit him.", pointing to me. This spark of reality seems to cool my assailant down.
We all start to exchange the required information when one of Sunnyvale's Finest pulls up and sticks his head out of his car's window saying,"If no one is hurt and you're just exchanging information, I'll just mosey along.". My assailant now shows his complete grasp of reality and common sense by demanding a police report. The Witness and I eye each other, both of us thinking,"Whoo boy! This is going to be good!".
The next ten minutes go something like this. Cop #1 talks to M.A. as cop #2 shows up. Cop #1 starts to give M.A. a field sobriety test as cop #2 checks on me and T.W. Cop #1 has M.A. blow into a plastic bag as cop #2 interviews T.W. and cop #3 arrives. Cop #1 tests the contents of the plastic bag as cop #3 watches M.A. and cop #2 interviews me as T.W. drives off waving. Cop #1, #2, and #3 handcuff M.A. and place him in the back of a squad car. Cop #1 departs with M.A., bound for jail (goalUK?). Cop #3 departs for parts unknown and cop #2 lets me use his cell phone to call my boss and a tow truck. As my poor broken car is being loaded onto the tow truck, cop #2 gives me all the paperwork necessary for my insurance company to sue M.A.'s insurance company.
I arrive home about 2am Saturday morning and spend the next hour or so explaining to my groggy wife how the commute car got broke. That's how my weekend started.

Umm... I was dragged up to Fremont. They have streets only wide enough for one lane that are two ways that people evidently zoom down and solid wall of trees on each side. And they had a sign that said "The salmon and steelhead are in the river". I guess that's a good place for them. I could picture someone coming up to them:
"Hey, where are the salmon and steelfish?" "In the river." "Hey, thanks"
And "I was behind a tractor" or "I was behind an Amish family" is a valid excuse to be late.
