It's still kinda embarrassing, though. It is, however, by no means the most embarrasssing thing I have done whilst drunk.

Are you drunk now? :-) It could well be the best way to approach a french listening exam. ie let the right hemisphere do its work, unimpeaded by reason ;-)

I can`t talk about the most embarassing thing i did when drunk it causes me to much pain to visualise it. I am fighting bringing it to mind at this very moment. Those scars urghhh

Do you remember Monty Pythons "The Hungarian-English phrasebook" in which the Hungarian phrase for "Please could you direct me to the nearest railway station" was translated too the english phrase "Please fondle my buttocks" The whole thing ended up in court.... very funny :-)

It's all very strange....Spanish is really easy, pronounciation-wise, the same letters always make the same sound. English is horrible to learn to speak. It took me 8 years to learn to pronounce 'j' and 'sh' because there's no sounds like that in Greek. And I find it very strange that 'cow' doesn't rhyme with 'tow'...There's several other examples of that sort of thing, but I can't think of any now.

Hehehe. No, not right now. My brother's home, and he'd tell my parents. Come to think of it, my dad would be much more annoyed about the fact I was drinking his booze than about the fact I was drinking; I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind if I went round someone else's house and drank their dad's booze, which is something I have been known to do....

LOL! I did think about that, but I decided that if I went to school smelling of alcohol I'd probably be expelled.

Let's see.....I haven't done anything *really* embarassing, but probably the most embarrassing thing I did when drunk was.....ah yes. I decided it would be a good idea to go visit a friend of mine, so I went round her house and demanded that she let me in. There were a few of our other friends there, plus her brother, I think. Anyway, I spent some time searching her house for more alcohol, found some, drank it, and then decided to try out her mother's excercise bike. 30 seconds later, her mother arrived home to find her excercise bike in pieces on the floor, me having tipped it over.....I was politely asked to leave. My friend tried to convince her mother that I was actually sober, but I think I kinda gave it away by dropping my coat and then falling on the floor trying to pick it up.....

Yep i`ve heard the same gripe, from people, to whome english is a second language. it`s just about the most illogical language there is. I think most of the verbs are irregular, lots of words have several meanings that change with context, and lots of words that have different meanings and different spellings are pronounced in exactly the same way as each other "would" and "wood" for example

there are hundreds of examples...i think

I hasten to add that you cant use the same philososophy for a woodwork exam :-) imagine it; bang bang crack "Oh well ididn`t need that extra leg anyway, giggle." :-)

Oh boy! thankfully, no real damage to anything valuable though err like, say, a dear freind.

The exercise bike must have been of "flimsy insuperior construction" to break just cos some drunkard gave it a little nudge. machinery that ramshackle probably represents a safety hazard. Your neighbours mum is probably thankfull that you tested her bike properly and identified its weakneses.

I feel shure that she does not resent the missing alcohol A fair price, i`d say, for making her home a safer place for drunk people :-)

Falling over at the end probably lost you some "cool points" though Try to steady yourself on other people or take small steps. if you know anything about physics you`ll know that idealy you want to keep your centre of gravity above your base ;-) Its worth bearing in mind that these rules aren`t so obvious when you are drunk, so attention to them must be paid consciously ;-)

After a lot of wine, i remember once, suddenly deciding that it was time to get to know the girl next door a little better I think my parents were away and i was left "in charge" (ROFL) Funny how when we are socialy incapable, we suddenly decide that the moment is right to broaden our circle of contacts. So i staggered round and pressed the doorbell I remember the whole thing went appallingly with me virtualy forcing her poor family to watch Star Trek or something similar. They were polite, but i think this girl was given firm orders to avoid me in future... which she did :-)

You were probably showing a bit too much enthusiasm with the pedals and somhow got some momentum up, but all the same it seems a bit churlish for the thing to actualy break on you.

Its a real problem!!! When i worked for the DSS we had a group that regularly used to get drunk in the local pubs in the evenings, but it all broke up in the end. Everybody got too embarrassed to continue ! People would stop going to work because they could no longer face their collegues.... Then as a reaction, people would try to remain "sensible" throughout, and it kinda dribbled to an uninspiring halt after that.

In fact the onion-eaters are continuously conspiring to dose me with onions: Fast food workers (they always slip that one stray bit of onion in a ketchup-only burger), all of the local pizza places (same thing), and manufacturers of spaghetti sauce.

Whenever I hear of someone else who also hates onions I feel an immediate sort of bond to that person. Only they know my pain. They are always scanning thier food for onions, they are my people. Same here! Everyone thinks I'm mad, but I really hate them!

I don't bother with all that special ordering, it takes too long. Instead, I have to scrape out the onion, which is sad, but stops me puking while everyone else is trying to eat. Is it just me, or does anyone else do that?

It's OK for me, I'm not all that fond of pizza, except Domino's (which is actually the only type of pizza I can eat because no other place delivers far enough out of town) and I have yet to detect onion in their pizza.

See, that's why I get my dad to make it!

Scanning food for onions? I do that! Every time I eat something I'm not entirely familiar with, I have to check that there is no trace of anything resembling onion in it. If I find any, I'll either throw a hissy fit or put it in the blender, depending on my mood and whether anyone else wrongly informed me that it was onion-free.

Which national anthem? I have two, I guess, and I think they're both different to yours......and I don't remember any of them anyway.....

They know about a million different ways to say "please kill me, I'm an onion eater"

I do have a basic respect for the onion as a plant, as a plant the onion should live and die in the soil that it was grown in, like all good plants should. The onion evolved its taste and smell for one very specific purpose, to taste so bad that no animal would eat it, thus insuring its survival.

I don't even bother with fast-food anymore: there is too much fat, it's never fresh, the coke is always flat. It's hard to tell what that meat is really made from, I'm afraid I'll bite into a burger one day and have a cow eye staring back at me. Still, that wouldn't be as bad as biting into an onion.

Oh my god. You are the one who will someday defeat me. When you kill me you must pass on my story.

Whenever someone serves me a meal they say "please vomit and then kill me violently." I think the words they really said "this has no onions in it" but by the time the words reach my brain i hear it as "please kill me."

I used to hate spaghetti for that reason, it was slimy, like eating worms. But then I discovered wholewheat pasta, it's much better as it's got some texture and colour to it, instead of being pallid and slippery. Similarly brown rice is much better than white, it has more flavour and doesn't look like a plateful of maggots.
