Hey, anybody know where I can get a copy of the sick sad life planner at this point in time? Amazon says they don't have it, and I've been helplessly looking around. Any help would be great...I finally get the money and the idea to get it and then *poof!* it's not there! grrr... thanx,

I got mine at Toys R Us. I haven't seen it there since, though, but it wouldn't hurt to look.
I hate to say it, but I don't like it that much. Was anybody else as disappointed as I was with this software?

Ya know, I'm not all that in love with it either. Hardly ever use it, in fact, so I guess you could call it a waste of a twenty. There are some features that aren't actually on the software, and the "journal" part hardly compensates for my wouldbe rants - we aren't all as word-thrifty as Doogie Howser, M.D. for pete's sake.

I thought the whole thing felt sort of rushed.
Specific problems:
The journal/calendar/address book only fits on the screen well if you keep your screen at high resolution (say, 1024x768), which I don't.
The video clips are entertaining, but you can only view them within the program, and you can pretty much only see them randomly. I would have much preferred they just made them as well-named mpegs or something so I could watch them at my leisure.
The wav files that the program uses ARE usable outside the program, and it does have a large number of them. However, they still have generic filenames so you would have to listen to each one individually if you wanted to find a specific one.
The screensavers aren't very good. The ones you can download from MTV are better.
The install/uninstall program was buggy. I had to install it twice because it didn't copy all the files right the first time, and when I tried to uninstall it later it wouldn't work so I had to delete the program manually.
The idea of a Daria address book/journal seems to be that their target audience for the software is teenage girls. As we all know, the Daria show has a much broader fan base than that. I would have much preferred more of a "Desktop Entertainment Utility", i.e., basically just a disk filled to the brim with good video clips, screensavers, wav files, and other fun toys, rather than this pseudo-office utility.
Or how about a Lawndale version of the Simpson's Virtual Springfield program? That would be fun.

I was really upset with it, actually. It was such a let down; I'd much rather MTV went back to merchendizing the pins, journals, peans, patcher, etc. than more things like the *ahem* 'planner'. >_< My pins are all scratched up, my pens ran out a year ago, the journal is barley holding on, and the one patch I managed to find went on a backpack that ended up killing my back, so I can't use it at all. I have the 1999 mousepad calandar, and managed to find a mini-backpack and baseball-type shirt in a Claire's store. (Which really freaked me out...) All of which are *much* better than the software, IMHO.

I did some checking for you, and I used www.mysimon.com to find the best price on the Sick Sad Planner for you, and the best one I got (the only one in fact), is www.toysrus.com, which has it for 19.99, and it is in stock. The other reference I usually check to find the best price on stuff, www.dealtime.com, didn't have any matches for it at all. Hope I helped.

They where temporally out of stock but emailed me when they wher back in and, had dispatched my order, arrived in about a week. They where also prepared to ship to me in the UK, which Amazon where not.
